Yes, its a 182 at Tully.

Now, for extra points, can anyone tell me who these people are, and where was the photo taken?

Well judging by the shade of green displayed and the slightly inbred look on the fella on the far right I'd say it was taken in one of the eastern states...couldn't guess whether it was the North Island or South

Heh there Lasio!

Were you dropping meatbombs at Tully/Mission Beach yesterday when the FTDK and I passed by?

A big thumbs up to the Centre guy on 124.6 who sorted out the VFR yank having a few issues with the cloud/vis in that area yesterday. Very courteous and professional!

Cheers

Dr

PS: Tully? Looks more like Rotorua with all those "geisers" going off in the background!

No, Doc, wasn't me. I spent Saturday at the beach.

The first photo on the page is Tully - the one with the six geezers in it is a bit further south. I believe the photo was taken in the late thirties, and while I know where it was, I genuinely don't know any of their names.

Chuck - I'm 100% certain the colour of everything in the photo was added considerably after the original photo was taken. It is a colourised black-and-white photo. Which at least explains the purple tie Geezer #2 is wearing.

lasiorhinus,

nice shot of Tully, do they still have the Navajo there, I had some very hairy takeoffs there. great acceleration on the bitumen and then you would hit the boggy grass and grind to a halt, great fun

Unless Duxford's changed in the last couple of years, it isn't Duxford.

I haven't been to Hendon (yet).

P51D - an illusion only.

It is a Hartzell Scimitar prop. The FTDK climbs like a love-sick angle with a similar prop. A100 in 10 min is not unusual.

Cool

Thanks Dr - I've got a 1992 F33A and might have to look at one of those when the prop's up!
