Quite. I can't help thinking the whole thing may be a spoof, with the 'trainee' deliberately acting the fool. Given the order to fire, who on earth would remove the magazine?

More on the two tug boats being attacked. There is an image circulating of what is claimed to be a tug boat on fire - I checked and this dates from 2019.

Seems that all US military aircraft in Europe are no longer showing on trackers.

Off topic, aviation content, but reflective of the Russian approach to weapons development. The story of the 'development' of the first Russian jet, the MIG-9, with some interesting referrals to the barriers to success and the way the Russians just sort of pushed ahead, ignoring problems and not testing. We still see the same things today in Ukraine.... Fascinating how things don't change.

… The Mig 9 is certainly a nice aircraft to look at. The wing outline reminds me of something? I reckon it would make a lovely little scaled down kit built..:) |
Kerch Bridge Update: Minister of Transportation Savelev says that 250 light cars on average cross the bridge per hour.
Heavy cargo is being sent via occupied land corridor from Rostov oblast (7.5k trucks since Oct 8). Only 16 train pairs have been sent across the bridge so far |
Russian TG Helicopterpilot just confirmed that was Russian helicopter of PMC Wagner.

Be mindful that not long before the Mig 9 flew that Patton had been pushing for continuing eastward into Russia. I’m sure the Russian higher command had knowledge of Pattons thoughts. The push to have an anti-bomber aircraft for the Allies to consider were likely the reason for just getting the Mig 9 up there - worry about it working later.
