Well, actually, yes! It's pretty simple to use all sorts of exotic methods to ruin an engine, but if you don't want to be caught in the field, with minimal resources, not so simple. I pity the poor sods out there and hope they can get home safety, although I doubt they will. It's interesting to see comments from the suddenly nominated soldiers where they say they want to save Russia et al and that they are patriots who want to kill all the Ukrainians, but......

Theres whole youtube channels on it, I believe one of the best things for screwing an engine was bleach into the oil

A back massage by a BTR is going to leave a bruise or two. Fine line between expediency and a bad day out driving.

So when does a drone become a pilotless aircraft? Looks close to that already. Looking at this "Drone" it's little more than a scaled down Pucara.

Should be interesting.

The UN seems to have organised a grain convoy from Ukraine across the Black Dea, now that Russia has withdrawn cooperation. Lots of Russian sites urging an attack - covert or otherwise.

If anything happens, will those forces supporting the UN stand aside?

Russian channel Starshe Edda calls to sink any ships carrying grain through the Black Sea in light of so-called "Russian ban" after Russian blew up its own ships yesterday. Similar sentiment in other channels.

Hand grenade with rubber bands in the fuel tank works wonders I'm told.
A low cost alternative is a cellotape ball in the fuel tank. The petrol dissolves the glue leaving a small section of cellophane ready to block the inlet. If you take the tank off to flush the tape tends to cling to the side.
It's really annoying and causes random failures that are hard to diagnose. Ask me how I know!

An interesting question. Diesel engines do (generally) have a water separator so you'd have to dump a in lot of water (of course, I'm not sure about Russkie diesels). So what's easily available for troops in the field that they could do to an engine to disable it and not be caught?

One of my uncles was evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940, and I remember him saying they were removing the breeches from all the artillery once they ran out of ammo, and threw them into rivers or the harbours etc., and vehicles all had their sump plugs removed, letting the oil drain out, while someone sat revving the nuts off the engine until the engine seized solid.

Petrol in the diesel tank or vice versa seems to cause havok.
Ask my wife! 🙄

Wow, presumably Mrs T doesn't read this thread too often... but if she does can you make sure that her response is not taken as an Article 5 event... :}

The effect of a M30A1 missile that contains 182,000 tungsten fragments on a truck apparently. It has even penetrated the leaf springs!

So the reason in the panicked Russian evacuation film showing the BPM turning over was one of the guys was lying across the drivers windscreen when he was travelling at speed...

Although in Ukrainian watch the film, 39 seconds in shows the hits the Bushmaster is taking without a problem, they have requested more and Australia has agreed another 30 ish.

Australia is transferring another 30 "Bushmaster" Infantry Protected Mobility Vehicle 4x4 to Ukraine in addition to the 60 delivered earlier. Australia also sends 70 highly professional military specialists to the UK to train Ukrainian soldiers there
