Plus, you have to train them all and that takes time, you then have the problem of a crap supply line.
Thinking back to WW2 and Germany trying to hide the existence of the Concentration Camps, they had a train with a hook on the back that they pulled down the centre of the track ripping the sleepers in half and destroying the railway to the camps, perhaps Ukraine wants to do similar and tear up any lines heading into Russia. |
Rare shot of a Mastiff, also they appear to have M977 trucks

Germany to supply IRIS-T anti air missile systems
German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen announced Germany's plans to supply Ukraine with two IRIS-T air defense systems by the end of this year and two more at the beginning of next year. She said this in an interview with Radio NV, Reports Ukrinform. "I am very pleased that we will transfer four such systems (IRIS-T – ed.) This will protect a large area of Ukraine. We have already heard that the first system will definitely be this year, I think, the second system too, and the third and fourth later, at the beginning of the new year," Feldhusen said. As reported, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal in an interview with German media on the eve of his visit to Germany recalled the announced delivery to Ukraine in October of the modern IRIS-T air defense system, which is now being manufactured, and said that Ukraine could make an order to receive 12 such systems to build a comprehensive airspace protection. Sadly, driving over troops in tanks is a valid tactic used by all sides in war.

Tactic for what? Already lying dead in the road and the driver either couldn't or couldn't be bothered to go around him.
If in a minefield and you have enemy dead in front you run them over. Just read some books about tanks in WW2. It's not very pleasant but there you are. I try to look at war impartially. While such images are disgusting to us in war, they are quite common and not necessarily any indication of brutality. The vehicle that drove over that body may not even been aware if at night, in battle etc. Of course, propaganda would have us believe otherwise. |
The Ukrainian counter offensive nearly faltered due to a rogue................... hedgehog.

Are there any numbers available of Russian POW taken during the conflict?

Clever, very clever, instead of the usual Ukrainian colours on armour and vehicles, switch to the white cross, The Russians having V Z O and the like are asking whose unit has the Cross unaware its Ukrainian until too late and the Ukrainians of course know this.

You're only going to fool them once with this surely? Even the dimwit Russian mil will cotton on to the difference in markings PDQ.

Kharkiv Oblast, Ukrainian mechanized forces utilizing British-donated FV103 Spartans in the latest offensive.

It appears the 4 in the back is not a hinderance as they tend to transport their troops on the top of the vehicles, for rapid deployment and safety reasons, so 8ish pax up top and spare gear down below.
