Is Ukraine about to have a war?
If the Russians have lost 2/3 of their T-72s, maybe they will look for some replacements abroad..I saw a nice T-34 last month, 2 previous owners, but I am not sure that it is for sale!

Kazakhstan seized the property of Roscosmos of Russia
The Kazakh authorities seized the property of the main operator of Russian spaceports - the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure (TsENKI).
A formal reason is a debt of 2 billion rubles.

Ukraine short of skilled troops and munitions as losses, pessimism grow

Rather grim. I know Ukraine has no other option but to continue fighting.

Ukraine wants US cluster bombs.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zon...what-you-think
Ukraine is asking the U.S. for Mk 20 Rockeye cluster bombs to dissect and use its submunitions for a unique purpose.kraine is once again requesting access to U.S. stockpiles of controversial cluster bombs. However, this time around, Ukraine wants to essentially deconstruct the munitions and arm its drones with the cannibalized anti-armor bomblets. The re-emergence of Ukraine’s petition for these weapons comes as its forces struggle to fend off a Russian counteroffensive in Eastern Ukraine.
Update on situation with the 6 reactors at ZNPP. Elsewhere I have read multiple accounts suggesting that Russia keeps approx 1,000 troops there so as to be safe from Ukraine artillery (but no proof)

If you want to discuss the US MQ-9 and Russian SU-27 event, go to the thread that covers that.
Please.
Please.
I am listening to interview with Slovak prime minister Eduard Heger where he clearly says that government will send all Mig-29s to Ukraine.
All eleven Migs were retired in August 2022.

Do they still use round parachutes for the pilot, or is this just more Russian primitive equipment? It seems like it'd be a lot more useful to give them something steerable
The video looks like he ended up in a tree. It'd be nice to not do that really

I would have thought round 'conventional' chutes are still used generally.
I seem to remember hearing that a 'round' chute would give the best chance of survival if the crew member was incapacitated during ejection?

Senators from both parties press Austin on sending F-16s to Ukraine
A group of senators from both parties is pressing the Pentagon for more information on what it would take to send F-16 jets to Ukraine.
The fresh push came in a letter Tuesday to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austinfrom eight senators, and obtained by POLITICO, as top administration officials from President Joe Biden on down have poured cold water on bipartisan calls to send U.S.-made fighters into the fight for now.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is “now at a critical juncture,” the senators wrote, arguing F-16 fighters could give Kyiv an edge as Moscow’s full-tilt invasion enters a second year.
“After speaking with U.S., Ukrainian, and foreign leaders working to support Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference last month, we believe the U.S. needs to take a hard look at providing F-16 aircraft to Ukraine,” the senators wrote. “This would be a significant capability that could prove to be a game changer on the battlefield.”
The letter was organized by Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.)……
Also signing onto the letter were Democrats Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, Tim Kaine of Virginia, Martin Heinrich of New Mexico and Jacky Rosen of Nevada as well as Republicans Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Tommy Tuberville of Alabama and Ted Budd of North Carolina.
