oh man, that's not going to end well. The discussion earlier regarding the possible landing near Odessa will be a disaster if they are really trying to do it with a combination of forces untrained for the task and untrained to work together against an enemy that has the gear, the motivation and the experience. May as well send the poor sailors to try and fly an alligator. Or a SU-25 pilot piloting a landing craft.

Its incredible how susceptible these tanks are to top attack, even using munitions one would expect would cause only superficial damage.
On a related note, I found the following video a few weeks back which gives a feel for how cramped this tank is inside, also how the gunner and commander effectively coexist with the autoloader:
Even without the autoloader, any penetration of the hull would be catastrophic for the crew.

Deadpan - that video actually makes me feel sorry for the poor sods getting blown to bits in them - what a **** way to go to war (sorry, special operation)!

A BTR hits an anti tank mine, tank goes in and drags it back just missing more mines, tank then advances and hits the one it missed earlier, another tank then has to recover the first one..

Early reports were that the Russians had said they were to be evacuated into Russian held territory - which wouldn’t have said much for their chances of survival.

RT appears to be filming them leaving, that has to be good, there is no way of quietly disposing of them when they are shown to be alive on the news.

It might be a prisoner exchange for those wounded in Mariupol and possibly more.. so glad it’s happening, rarely do you use the word hero in the true sense, but everyone of them are, to hold out against such odds, against so many for so long.
