To preflight the rotor blades, the makers cleverly installed steps in the side of the cockpit. However, with forward cyclic, the steps (made by Lada) made a rattling noise.

During the subsequent police chase, the bank robbers' car was involved in a collision with a cement mixer. A Scotland Yard spokesman later stated that they had arrested two hardened criminals.

While the Wessex was built like the proverbial brick ****house, the Puma was built along the lines of the cement that held them together.
