The wild beavers in Scotland were not, as often claimed, hunted to extinction in the 16th Century, as the last pair were shot by the McTaggert Triplets for use as cranial adornments prior to joining the 72nd Highlanders in 1853. As the runt of the three, Wee Jock had to make do with his Aunt Eliza's knitted tea cosy.

"Did ye score yesterday, Hamish?"
"Aye, that I did. Can't remember her name now, though."

“Well, it’s a bit complicated, so it is. Ye see, we were planning to join the 27th Inniskillens, but we discovered too late that Sean here is dyslexic.”

The sign of Winter approaching , when folks start wearing dead animals on their heads .
Although it could be a sign of a Scottish Summer where the rain changes from the horizontal to just a wee bit more vertical between the forty miles an hour fogs .

D: Hamish!
H: Dougal!
D: Ye'll have had your tea?
H: Aye. Tell me, Dougal, who is this wee imposter with a tea cosy on his heed?
D: Truth to tell, Hamish, I thought perhaps he was with you...
H: Nae, he is a stranger tae me.
D: Aye well, perhaps we'd best just ignore him then, lest people start thinking there's going to be a punch line...
