Just advise them of your plan and they will accomadate you. I would say try to ask them for another date in december if not then jan2012.
they are quite good at helping all.

Hi all,

How much possible is, and in average how long does it take, a fleet transfer to a wide-body after you join as an A320 captain? Is there many people actually bidding for it?

Thanks any reply.

Nice & safe flights!

gdukkoq 6th Oct 2011 22:54

Fleet Transfer (Captain and First Offi-cer)

– Maximum of 59 years of age for transition courses to differ-ent types of aircraft.

– This criterion does not apply to TREs

– Direct Entry Non-Type rated pilots will be frozen on their type for a period of 3 years from the date of their FLC.

– Direct Entry Type rated pilots will be frozen on their type for a period of 2 years from the date of their FLC.

– Direct Entry pilots who are provided with a CCQ course will be frozen on their type for a period of 2 years from the date of the FLC.

– Following a Company requirement for an internal fleet trans-fer, the pilot will be frozen on their new type for a period of 2 years from the date of the FLC.

– Following an internal transfer at an individual's request, the pilot will be frozen on their new type for a period of 3 years from the date of the FLC.

– On successful completion of an Initial Command Upgrade course, the new Commander will be frozen on his current fleet for a period of 2 years from the date of the FLC.

Note 1: Pilots who have served on their respective fleet for the minimum required period will be assumed to want to undertake a Fleet Transfer. Should this not be the case the pilot should confirm in writing to the Fleet Office their desire to remain on their current Fleet.

gdukkoq, thanks for your reply. So I understood that a A320 type rated DEC shall stay in this fleet a minimum of 2 years. And do you know what is the average time (years) that a new joiner will actually take to get his transfer to the big planes? 3, 4, 5 years?

Thanks!

loc22550 7th Oct 2011 04:31

Go around, we do have ..250..captains on the 320 fleet today.
90% of them are already waiting for a transfer i guess..So don't expect any transfer before 4..5 years+.

I'd like to have an advice from you guys.

I applied almost one month ago. A week after my original application date I received an email requesting to update my application being referred for that job by a "friend" of Qatar Airways. It was about a UK recruitment agency which had my details and they suggested me that job offer too.
So I got back on QR recruitment section and I checked again my application, I uploaded one more document and that was all. Nothing else to update.

Anyway, I'd like to know if it would be a good idea to call Pilot Recruiting and ask about my application. If they saw and assessed it or something. This is because I’m particularly interested in having a chance of an interview with QR before getting involved in other offer I got this days.
Any advice from QR guys is very welcome!

Thank you in advance.

I was wondering if a 330 FO would be willing to share his roster with me, I'de like to see how many sectors he flies in a month. Or alternatively if someone could just tell me how many they usually get in a month, sectors that is, not hours.

TwoTone-7 8th Oct 2011 10:19

I was wondering if a B777 FO would be willing to share his roster with me, I'de like to see how many sectors he flies in a month and also if possible a list of the B777 destinations.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Happy Landings,
Kri

A320 Fleet - SO Position?

Could anyone tell me if there is a SO position in A320 fleet? Particulary in Qatar Airways!
I ask this because a guy from a recruitment agency asked about my SO time on A320, and I told him Í have no time as SO on 320. He get back to me and said that observer block-time shoud be recorded as SO time. Is it true?
I mean 320 is a 2 men crew a/c, so how can I record my obs flights as SO time?

This paperwork is killin' me... I mean it! :ugh:

imnotwhoyouthinkiam 8th Oct 2011 19:08

@flyforfood1, thanks for taking the time to post that.
