Time to get tough Mr Walsh.Ask every cabin crew member are they prepared to strike ,if they say yes remove their Staff travel indefinately-strike threat would be over by monday.

Oh and why do you still allow BASSA (sorry UNITE ) a manned (by company paid cabin crew, given time off to do union duties ) office on company property ?

VanHorck, I can only assume the press don't know about BA's plan to get a volunteer list together. I know that the cabin crew managers are now ringing people to find out who is striking and who is not. A friend has just texted me to say that he has been 'phoned by his manager to see if he is striking or not. I guess in the next few days or so, something may be written about people like me, who intend on going into work.

According to Sky UK hearing to take place at the High Court tomorrow (16th) 1400 UTC.

Main problem for BASSA (according to Legal talking head) may well be the issuing of ballot papers to those due to leave the Company prior to any possible IA. He seemed to be of the view that if BASSA could show it was a genuine error then the result would probably stand, but, if has been alledged, BASSA knew of this error but carried on regardless they (BASSA/Unite) could be on very shaky ground.

I wonder why the BA management went to such lengths to inform BASSA of this potential problem then? Additionally giving them the option to rescind the ballot as well.

Could be a long night in the Unite offices trying to figure out how the compensation bill will be paid and how all of the other Unite members who have nothing to do with BASSA and many who earn a lot less for more work will react to paying for all this madness.

Ouch.

I just hope many will volunteer to work and keep their jobs and those who decide to strike on will be made redundant/sacked.

It would be great for BA if this way some dead wood was cut out whilst keeping the live wood.

Funny this should happen in this Darwinian year. It is called natural selection. My hat off to the many BA CC crew who are diligent and enjoy providing the hospitality they extended to their guests.

can anyone quote here or tell me thread number of what BA want to do and why the CC have a problem with the proposals. understand pay and cc reduction on 747 from 15 to 14. It would be nice 2 see both sides of the arguement (as thewife went on last strike in 1986)

How i am really starting to hope that comes true, because lets face it, if the strike goes ahead then it probably will.

I bet all the crew that put themselves down to work (if there is a strike) will be treated well by the BA customers - they should all feel very proud in helping everyone have a good Christmas, good on all of you

Managers are indeed contacting their fleet to see whether they will be working or not on the proposed strike dates.

I received a message from my manager earlier this afternoon. I'm going away on a trip over the weekend which brings me back to LHR on Sunday but if there are any flights departing on 23rd and onwards I'm hoping to be on one of them!

YouTube - Sandown Meeting

Excuse me but I would be out the door if I attended a meeting where my Boss was spoken down to like that. Lemmings led by trotskies. Very poor rhetoric, utterly generic rabble rousing devoid of hard choices or details, playing to the in-bred vanity that BA CC are better than everyone else.

Newsflash : You're not. Everybody else didn't just destroy Christmas for tens of thousands of hard working people at the end of a bloody rough year.

BASSA email just read out on ITV news. There goes the last of any public support there might have been, and I'm far from certain there was any around anyway?

Tomorrow afternoon before Mrs Justice Cox.
She is quite an interesting and thought provoking woman.
You can read something on her here.
