Hi,

About 150 people turned up to the Syd open day and they ended cutting down to about 20. The open day wasn't too bad as it was all group tasks, the one on one interview was the scariest. They asked so many questions about team work etc etc.

They say 4-6 weeks but depending on their crewing needs it can be quicker (I'm pretty sure Craic got called back in about 2, maybe 3 weeks?) I recall at the time she (Danni/Amelita/whoever) said they needed a lot of new crew...

Congrats Letsfly

Hey there--I also got the call yesterday along with two other girls that were in my group--I have a feeling that a lot of the Syd group is going/have got the call! Exactly on 2 weeks they got in touch, very relieved!!

Hello everyone

Hey everyone

Just thought i would let you all know that I'm from Melbourne and made it to the last interview process with emirates.
I recieved a call on Sunday stating that I had made it to the medical stage .
This whole process had become a dream come true. If the medical all goes well I will be leaving on the 22nd of June also.

To anyone out there who wants advice let me know and i'll be there to help. The most important thing is to be yourself, smile and think positive, thats all I did.

I'll keep you all posted.

Good Luck

When you are asked to do the medical, you will get a whole lot of forms that need to be taken to your doctor & filled out. Im in the process of mine, but you need to go through a whole lot of things..blood tests (HIV/AIDS & haemoglobin), chest xray, vaccinations, if you wear contact lenses you have to do a sight test, if youre female you need to to a cervical test, audiogram (hearing test) and also dental. Be aware that none of it is covered/reimbursed by Emirates (and in Australia, not all of the tests can be covered by Medicare...)

It is a preliminary medical to so that Emirates group can a) have the visa approved for you to enter the country & work and b) meet the minimum requirements to carry out the duties required without any medical problems and c) that you are practically in good health to not jepordise the health & dental policies that is given to you once you are accepted.

You are also re-tested for many of the same things once you enter Dubai as well.

Hi Cloud 9

Hi Cloud 9..

I refer to your message earlier, you mentioned the following: -
(1) be yourself
(2) smile &
(3) think positive

well Cloud 9, what is "be yourself", well how do you know...
How can one be sure if someone is being herself or not??? I am just wondering...

Thanks a lot girl

Hi Clogs,

You should try Qatar Airways (Doha) & Gulf Air....also Etihad Airways also in UAE.

Wish you all the best!

June assessment days

Hi fox123, you've been posting some replies with the same question and here is an answer just to help you a little bit. I see that your location is China and I am quite sure that an agency is involved in the cabin crew recruitment process in China. I think you should first try contacting the agency about the invitations. I also know that for assessment days in other cities like London, people received invitations around 2-3 weeks before the assessment day. Best of luck to you

They are looking for a follower, good team player, friendly, interactive!! Good luck, if you havent heard in a month it means you more or less have it, those who hear straight away dont!! Dubai have to approve you, it took them 6 months for me!! Then others have been luckier, call after a couple of weeks to see how your interview went, shows your keen!!

GOOD LUCK!!
THANKS SO MUCH GAL....I'll remember your advice. Going this June, will let you all know what happens there....

As for where and when the open day is on, check on the website..it should tell you all the details you need....since you applied online, you *may* get in invite which will also tell you the same details .

Good luck! And feel free to ask me any other questions

It's not usually by both.... it's either one or the other.
Do they take only 1 sample of blood or 2? Because one sample can only be sent to a lab to test HIV and the other disease. It can't be sent to test for drugs as well. Companies usually test for drugs through urine (that's standard) but it's not unheard of to test through blood. But if they're already testing for a disease, they'd need 2 samples.

I actually had the types two done as it was what they requested from me last week..it may be different for other groups/recruitment drives im not sure, but i had both blood & urine as well as the HIV test and the other blood test.....
