i totally disagree, you can rock up to head office and get a interview ive had two friends come over on hols and get interview and hired much quicker than getting hired in your own country, just check the days they have open days in dubai.. and that they are hiring males at the time, because we do go thru phases where they wont take males

I do not understand!
I applied for a global assessment day for June by the end of April. And, I re-applied a couple of days ago since I did not receieve any confirmatin that they had received it.
When are they doing their shortlisting? Will they even look at my application?
I have my doubts because they have been to my country several times and never once did I receive an invitation!

I still have to monitor the global assessment days and find out their open days in head office.
Anyone who had flown to DXB and tried walk-in application? I hope i could gather info who made it.

EK in Dubai
Dear Shoon,
Basically during Ramadan they are accepting walk ins, usually in the afternoon, you can check their website for the timings and dates.
Walk in in dubai is not easy, why dont you try to appli in IPAMS in Manila, did you try it before?
When you are in UAE, you have the option to apply to Etihad also in Abu Dhabi but need to apply online as well . It is better for you to have the date of interview before you go to UAE at least you will not end up nothing.
Good Luck and Take care

hi, i'm in the same situation with u
I applied for the assessment day for June too , but it was by the end of Mar. I didn't get reply from Ek yet. and seems the agency has no any info about it.
I think they will give u an invitation when the day close to the assessment day in ur country ,if u r in their shortlist. don't worry about it.

Thanks for the info! I already tried applying to IPAMS several times and not being shortlisted, hehe But i will still try this year and i will not give up.
That is one of my reason why i want to UAE try to apply with the other airlines there and i am open with other opportunities.
Regards to EY, they had open days in Philippines this year but only entertained female applicants.
Am i that ambitious? Hehehe Anyways, that is one of my asset i have the determination to suceed in everything i do and hope will have favorable results if i will pursue my endeavor.

Congratulations Taurus Dxb!! A whole yr has passed, but obviously you stand out to them to warrant a call 12 months later!! Thats excititng! I'vbe just been through the process here in Sydney...prelims...group...psych test, then 1 on 1. Best advice I can offer for all of these sessions is always be focused on customer service with a smile. And when you make it to group discssion, make sure you participate positively--the recruiters are building up a file for everyone so give them something good to write about. But most of all, smile your heart out! (only when appropriate though...I saw some girls & guys grinning like maniacs when the recruiters were talking about safety...)not a good look....
All the best with your application, let us know how you go!
Meanwhile, i htink i bombed out on the pstch test the more I think about it...some questions I think i should have answered differently...i hope it doesnt have too much weighting against my application.. Now it's just the waiting game..handing in myfinal papers & photos today....*fingers crossed*

I got through to the individual interviews few weeks ago. One of the girls who also got through stated once you got through to that stage, you're pretty much in, as long as everything checks out ok. Is anybody able to verify this?? CAN'T STAND WAITING 4 THAT CALL!! (hopefully!! )

Well said DJTibby!!
I know many people (Managers, people involved in writing safety manuals, people who preach on pprune etc) who are 100% British and yet cannot see the difference between Complement and Compliment, Achieve and Perceive, Your and You're, It's and Its and keep thinking that Dependent is spelt Dependant, and Definitely is spelt Definately...
Leave alone words like Inexplicable, or Hyperglycaemic and Hypovolaemic!! (ask AVMed trainers...)
I could go on, and on, and on........
Rivaldo, my friend, do not worry about your spelling...
I cannot answer your question but at the moment there's a very long discussion on "EK applications and recruitment" going on and, if I remember well, a few days ago someone asked the same question.... It's worth having a look at it: you might find all the answers you need!!

Was the editing done to correct a few errors of your own in the spelling department?
My original posting has nothing to do with intolerance towards non native English speakers. Whether we like it or not, people do need to have a good grasp of English, if only to understand the manuals which can be confusing, complicated and badly written at the best of times.
The increasing numbers who are failing in their SEP's will testify to that!

Definately GO! At the last open day interview I attended, the recruiters specifically mentioned that as long as you are turning 21 in the next 6 weeks, you can still apply. This is because there application process takes about 6 weeks anyway.
You do not need a first aid certificate. Their website details all their requirements.
Unfortunately, EK doesn't fly AKL-CHC, so looks like your going to have to slum it with NZ or QF, when you commute to your interview.
Good Luck!
