Perhaps the flag can help you?

dook 3rd Nov 2018 21:53

Seen that - done it.

dook 3rd Nov 2018 22:17

For anyone who thinks the flags might help :

Ok the flag I agree you only can recognize it when you know the logo of the operator.

Copenhagen?

dook 4th Nov 2018 11:44

Looks like a hit.

I've found what I think is the very Fokker, now with Townend rings around the wing engines.

edited for spelling.

Not copenhagen
if you have found the Danish Fokker
you can determine its register nr.
And then it is easy.

dook 4th Nov 2018 13:29

I can only see the last two letters IG, and G is in your challenge photo.

In any case it's at Copenhagen so no matter.

Self loading bear 4th Nov 2018 13:46

You are getting there.
not many Danish Fokkers ending on IG.

Found the aircraft full registration after going through over 5000 !

There is one photograph of it at Copenhagen, another at Aalborg and another in Berlin.

Crashed at Kastrup in 1945.

Here's a pic of it.

Esbjerg is the answer.

Dook ,

thats the one!

good perseverance.
i am a bit surprised you had to go through 5000 photos
I was reluctant to give the type away because
If you would have googled Fokker XII
OY-DIG is the 4th picture.

The logo on the flag:

I promise when I present my next challenges it will be a matter of minutes

I didn't - I went through the historical Danish registration list and unfortunately OY-DIG is towards the end.

Dook,

what great resolution!
high colonial content.
In the front left looks like a DC-4
In the middle a two engine; double tail tail dragger.
lots of choice will look into that later.
above the double tail looks like a triple tail at one end but like a carvair at the other end.

Not the USA.

dook 4th Nov 2018 20:48

You're picking up the IR emissions.....

Terry Dactil 4th Nov 2018 23:43

So we are thinking French.
That triple tailed aircraft in the background looks like it could be an Avro York, which was also operated by the French military.
They also operated C-54s, and if this is the place I think it is, one of them is plugged into that hill in the background.
I'll go for La Tontouta, showing what is now the military side of the international airport on New Caledonia.

dook 5th Nov 2018 08:55

We are not in New Caledonia.
