New Zealand?

Kieron Kirk 8th Oct 2017 12:31

Perhaps a bit nearer to Europe, Spain?

Kieron.

Background Noise 8th Oct 2017 12:34

Europe yes, but not Spain.

chevvron 8th Oct 2017 13:18

Somewhere on Sardinia?

Background Noise 8th Oct 2017 13:20

Sorry - should have said mainland Europe.

jensdad 8th Oct 2017 13:46

Those look like Italian markings on the hulks in the foreground left. Italian Alps I reckon. I'm going for Aosta. Even though I'm not even sure there is an airfield there :)

Heathrow Harry 8th Oct 2017 13:47

Aosta LIMW?

Open House if correct

Heathrow Harry 8th Oct 2017 13:48

Bugger - Jensdad beat me by 15 seconds..................

Background Noise 8th Oct 2017 14:21

Aosta it is - I guess jensdad has it.

jensdad 8th Oct 2017 14:38

I recognised the landscape as I passed through Aosta on the train a few years back. Had no idea there was an airfield there! Is that an old Italian Air Force C-54 lying there in bits?

Open House (or should I say 'Casa Aperta' / 'Maison Ouverte'?)

That and the terrain is what led me to guess Sardinia. Admittedly it's more like Corsica but that comes under French 'rule' (until they have THEIR referendum 'cos they hate the French)

Nowhere near Italy. I've paxed out of here twice and landed once.

jensdad 10th Oct 2017 02:04

As it's you, I42, I'm gonna say Canada? I appreciate that, if correct, that doesn't narrow it down a great deal :)

India Four Two 10th Oct 2017 02:07

Aha, got you! Hook, line and sinker. :E

Contrary to popular belief, it does snow south of the 49th parallel.

Heathrow Harry 10th Oct 2017 06:31

Indeed but look at the neat snow clearance - footpaths, roads etc etc - so somewhere that gets a lot of snow often and is totally set up for it.

Pretty flat so maybe Wisconsin - ish....................

India Four Two 10th Oct 2017 06:36

Yes, they’re certainly setup for snow, but it’s not Wisconsin. Much further south.
