Harry and descol are in the correct ocean, with Harry on the correct side of the equator.

Was there three weeks ago and the basic necessities seem to be covered.

Accom was a bit basic - but not the worst I've been in during an airport inspection.

If Harry is the right side of the equator - then it has to be one of the many southern Gilbert islands
- I 'll guess Beru !

Getting closer but still a lot of Pacific Ocean to cover. I included the additional picture of the building to help narrow down the search.

Morning all. I see lots of activity while I’ve been sleeping.

Mosquitos and a Dakota lurking in the background. Japanese POW labour. Not an island and not Malaya.

Well done JENKINS. :D A little known piece of post-WWII history. I got the photo from here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_in_Vietnam_(1945–46)

The caption reads:

Japanese POW's under British supervision repairing the taxiing strip at Saigon airfield, with behind them RAF de Havilland Mosquito aircraft, December 1945
Probably Tan Son Nhut, although it might be Bien Hoa.

JENKINS has control.

Very smartly edited, I42 !!!!

JENKINS,

They were there during the dry season (October-April), so they probably were OK.

A little research suggests that the Mossies are PR 34s of 684 Squadron:
