Looks to be prune-proof as well; I can't see anything.

Not Tombstone

Airfield has no services, lights etc. Just a runway and parking ramp with about 10 tie-down spots - that's it!

Not NM either, but drifting in the right direction.

A little clue:
There is a fork of a river in the bottom RH corner of the picture. That river doesn't flow into the ocean.

Somewhere in the Great Salt Lake watershed? Jordan River?

No. But getting closer

Not the Colorado.

I did some research. I had no idea there were so many endorheic basins in the Southwest and I’m a geologist!

Let’s narrow down the State first. Is it Arizona?

Not Arizona. But an area once exploited for its lode.

Heathrow Harry 28th Oct 2017 08:20

Jeez - never realised how many smal strips there are up in the high desert/mountain country round there.........................

Russell Gulch 28th Oct 2017 15:53

I'd suggest Utah, but I won't. I think it's Idaho.

Russ

India Four Two 28th Oct 2017 18:51

I'll suggest Colorado.
