Take a look at this then. I'll have to leave for some time. Have to look at my computer, as it is acting up again. Will probably be back in the morning.

Disregard my latest message, please. Didn't quite read what was going on.

Will someone please tell me the current challenge and meaning of "disregard last message".

We seem to have had a new challenge before the confirmation of the previous one.....

Well I'm so dumb I thought TC had got sick of waiting and posted the challenge himself. As he was right and di8d decalre open house, is there any harm in letting sablatnics challenge stand? I wouldn't object.

"Disregard my latest message, please."
I just wanted you to forget the "challenge" I had posted before the confirmation of SincoTC's answer, and go Open House.

I wasn't paying attention to what was going on. Sorry.

Let's run with sablatnics' challenge.

At least we've got one to keep us occupied.

Morning sablatnic,

I don't think there's any need to apologise, you just missed my "if so" which is an easy mistake to make in the rush to get something posted before anyone else, especially as LM's post just before yours, seemed to indicate that he was anxious to un-stall the thread and get things moving.

I'm afraid that my internet access is limited to "work breaks and after hours" at the moment so I can't really service any challenges as I'd like to, so I'll have to await that pleasure for another month, when I'll get access at home, and then I'll probably get no sleep!!!

As HD as officially declared me the winner, I can say that it is now Open House, so I'd go ahead and re-post your challenge, it looks a good one!

Thanks LM, I agree! I see that your light is now off, HD's was on when I posted my answer as is sablatnic's now, but they do seem a source of confusion, so I've taken to logging out now instead of letting them "time-out"

Agreed - that's what I do now so if you see my light on I'm actually on-thread

Still, it ain't helping with sablatnics' challenge, which seems to be a ducted-fan pusher jobber, possibly a homebuilt.

Just had a thought.

I wonder if sablatnic thinks, after what he said, that his challenge is no longer the current one. He might therefore not be seen for quite a while....

Hi LM,

I'm here, for another hour or so, then off 'till Monday, we've got a bloody great new CNC machine tool arriving early and if it snows again it'll be fun and games and no "play time".

I've been trawling for the sablatnic challenge and I agree with your initial thoughts. Trouble is the searches are messed up by all the model aircraft stuff so far. It's a good one though!

Just seen your latest and agree, perhaps you should PM him?

Yes, but he would have to be on line to get it and if he were, he would read these posts anyway.

Snow in Minehead? I'm just up the road from you and we never get the stuff.

Sablatnic, is your challenge (which may have been withdrawn?) the NASA PAVE concept aircraft?

Subsequently found this cutaway, wings don't look quite right. No undercarriage visible either....so maybe a precursor to the above....??

Trying to come up with something to defeat the Google's predilictions for model aircraft DF units I got lucky with TailFan, although they don't seem to exactly match the silhouette, the one with folding wings seems the closest match, having fixed spatted gear and an inverterd gull-wing, but can't see the winglets.

Just seen skytrains post, thats the one I initially found before I dug a little more! Still haven't found his original yet though.

LM, I thought that when you sent a PM, it also sent a regular notification email as well?

Don't worry we rarely get much snow in Minehead (apart from Feb '77) it's where I work up on Exmoor that's the problem, a few hundred feet up and inland makes all the difference!

Surely the easiest way to withdraw a post is to delete it.

He's left it up.

SincoTC...have had a good look and can't find anything that exactly ties up with Sablatnic's silhouette...closest is the one at the top of the article that you found.

In light of Sablatnic's comments (ie busy/computer problems) I'm tempted to say that we should move on....his last comment was Open House after all.

I think that the hunt for an actual model number is probably going to be fruitless and it may be something as simple as PAVE Concept Study or similar!

I have to call it a day/weekend soon, so I agree that it's best to go Open House rather than have it stalled again.

Keep up the good work guys

Online again. Had to reinstall win etc.
SincoTC had it allright. It was one of the NASA PAV's, the "Pipistrel Virus" actually, of which he did find a pic.
Sorry about the confusion, but glad you moved on.

In lieu of that comment, I am prepared to remove my challenge and give control to TC

My post 6584 at 1445 Prune time is therefore removed.

Your thread TC.
