This is most annoying. I stumbled accross this aircraft in search of Noyade's IPT-0 challenge. I remember as it reminded me a little of a fat Bowers Fly Baby....trouble is I cant recall what it was!! Must keep searching.

Not a Bowers and i guess its clue time. The silhouette appeared in a publication dated March 1947. The designer/builder claimed it was for the "shallow pocketed" air enthusiast and it had a 25 h.p engine.

Wren Goldcrest it is - all 23 ft span of it. These are from "Flight" but the silhouette was from "The Aeroplane Spotter". Skytrain10 has control.

Doug, there was, and indeed this is, the M1, designed in 1949 (as part of the development of the Vautour) for release from the top of a Languedoc. There are conflicting reports as to whether it ever flew, or more accurately, glided.
