A tad out of my knowledge range but how about starting with German? The engine seems to have that look about it. I'd also say not American and not British. Oddly it is very angular and then has a part-shamrock bolted to the tail! .... My six penny worth for now .... RR

I am not sure on the mark of engine as only the make is mentioned in the information I have. I will tell you that it is an Hispano Suiza engine. Again I have no information regarding what might be the radiator beneath the fuselage.
And RR, correct, its not Russian.

The thing betwin the legs could be a Lambling radiator.
er.. wossa "a record braking glider."
Silly me. This appears to be a glider which is able to reduce speed rapidly.....
keyboard top row, third from the left........

Good morning all, and evening to Noyade.
As its all very quiet time for a further clue. The aircraft was manufactured in the first half of the 1920's. The designer also participated in the 1936 Olympic Games, albeit not strictly as a competitor.

I think you must be right LM. I found something from that last clue that tick all the boxes, as follows.
Their first plane, the ‘Daru’
Rats!! I knew that tail shape was familiar, I got the Dongo a while ago, but I couldn't place it.
Their first plane, the ‘Daru’
(heron), a four seat, single winged 160 HP air craft, but they were not
able to market it and the company went into bankruptcy. In 1929 Rotter
joined the Hungarian Boy Scout move ment’s flying division and built
the 20 meter wing span glider ‘Karakán’. Rotter broke all Hungarian
glider records with this plane. In 1934 he spent a continuous 24 hours
flying over Budapest with his glider. With his explanation of thermal and
air wave movements related to gliding, Rotter gained international fame.
In 1936 he was invited to the Berlin Olympics, where he has flown a
pre-announced 336 kilometer distance from Berlin to Kiel, a world record at the time.

A good challenge from Skytrain, almost living up to Noyade's "un-googlable" variety!

Excellent research LM...yes it is the Hungarian Feiro Daru. Must admit I thought the tail would have given it away bearing in mind it wasn't that long ago that we had the Dongo. The designer Lajos Rotter went on to design and fly the Namare glider, with which he set a world distance record during demonstrations for the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.
Over to you.
Over to you.
Thank you skytrain.
What a challenge! It certainly resulted in much head scratching and opened up an interesting discussion, which of course is what the thread is all about.
I'm still non the wiser about the upper mast, but have concluded that it must be an aerial mast. As for the kit between the wheels, I'm still in dunno mode.
A little something for the weekend gentlemen, or at least for maybe the next hour:
