Ahh...OK. Thanks RR. This is also from Flying Review Magazine and will probably last just as long.

It was the Caravelle style windows that got things on the right track. Here is the next one. Cheers Doug

Thanks Doug. One of the few tricycle undercarriage aircraft from SNCAC...they then went on to produce a taildragger, the NC-841, which was perhaps more in keeping with their other products, albeit perhaps a retrograde step to many.

Here's one to mull over;

Apologies for the quality.

skytrain10's challenge

skytrain10. Is that the aircraft's engine aft of the cockpit. If so it seems a little far aft for c of G purposes on a tricycle undercarriage. The engine in the Bell Aircobra was positioned almost over the rear undercarriage legs. Did the aircraft fly or was it just a paper exercise?

In no particular order...

The engine is indeed just behind the cockpit a la the Bell Aircobra. This aircraft was more than a paper exercise but never got built.

Not the ME509 project.

LM..bearing in mind what you said in the past I figured the quality was not up to reproduction.....I do agree it is perhaps not the prettiest of aircraft!

S'land has it, it is the Tucker XP-57, aka Tucker AL-5. A single prototype of this very Bell like mid-engined fighter had been ordered by the US military, and had actually been allocated USAAF serial no 41-0004. However due to the financial difficulties of Tucker the order was cancelled and the aircraft was never completed.

S'land, welcome back ...you have control.

Thank you skytrain10, a most interesting challenge, at first I thought that it might be either Russian or Japanese.

Here is the next one.

It'll never fly. The engine isn't big enough!
