Coronet:

Customers are the reason you have a job.The reason your company exists. No customers. No job for Twiggs. A fact you have failed to grasp

No, no,no Coronet! Customers are not the reason Qantas staff have jobs.

The real reason is that Qantas is protected by the Government and has a fixed share of capacity into and out of Australia by law, and that their market share, at least in good times, is a function of the fact that Australians have no choice but to fly Qantas.

And that of course is why they can get away with giving their customers a ****ty travel experience year in, year out. That is why QF management can get rid of frontline staff and bully what's left. Even if Qantas could find a Board and Senior Management group more dysfunctional than the current lot, it would not matter, because Qantas has a guaranteed market share.

Well that is of course in good times. In the current economic downturn, coupled with an influenza pandemic, there are not going to be quite so many people travelling are there? But guess which airline is going to take the biggest hit?/ Hint: It won't be Cathay or Emirates or Singapore Airlines.

The fact that coronet.blue was a long haul flight attendant with QF only 2 years ago certainly does mean that her perspective is very different from the average QF customer.
It also means that this statement has absolutely no credibility

Coronet.blue made this statement whilst we were still under the impression that she had no previous link to QF and was happy to continue that facade.

Still waiting for lowerlobe and RedTBar to join in the chorus of their anthem, "twiggs works in the office".

The Leprechaun not a White Knight

For years Qantas employees have waited in vain for someone who has a feel for people to run the place.
Joyce has so far done little except to mimic Dixon. The wait goes on.
Twiggs you are some piece of work.No wonder you are single. No the Pug doesnt count but its probably the closest you are ever going to get to a real boyfriend.
Your real name is Louise F.?

Heads_down, let's take a look at why you are gaining very little respect within this thread.

whether a person used to work for qantas as a meal server or windows cleaner makes no difference in (the?) discussions on this forum.

If someone used to work with Qantas and now is a customer, than they should be treated no difference from other customers (full stop perhaps?)
I give you a 4/10 Buddy. I could go on with the rest of your post however, I couldn't be bothered.

If you wish to gain some respect for your posts, a good start would be to work on your basic English skills.

Some of your above mistakes seem to be a regular occurance each time you post.

I've said it before and i'd say it again

If you are looking to read a post ala thesis style, please, just go read academic papers.
If I want opinions about sentence structure, I will consult the real English professor at the university, not some half ass non tertiary qualified team manager who works at Qantas, or some self proclaimed educational expert who really are salad tossers.

I am simply not bothered. I ain't bothered. I ain't bothered and I just could not be bothered with half ass qualified cowboy self proclaimed academia.

I welcome you not to waste your academic skills in these gawd forsaken threads and instead see if your team manager or your manager can place you in some sort of a qantas English class as a typical Qantas half ass non tertiary qualified so called expert, Lord knows how many language speakers in Qantas have such a bad command of English, you'd think Qantas recruit their staff from overseas.

And if your lousy loser management team led by Grant is anything to go by, one wonders when this gawd forsaken company will file for bankruptcy.

It may be useful to note QF cc were kicked out long before I even knew Prune existed.

constantly harassing people to write a thesis style critique when most people do not spend a great deal of time to write these, just quick views on topics and spur of the moment responses, and that for some strange reasons, gets response from your supposedly friendly and respectful work mates about spellings, grammatical structure, language lessons.

this alone tells you how disrespectful the QF cc are to one another, it also shows what sort of culture exists within QF cc and naturally, a section of the company run by non qualified so called managers with no achievement to speak of nor any formal tertiary qualifications, no wonder you have a bunch of half wits what nots and half ass cowboy experts who have nothing better to do than pretend to be a language expert in these forums because no opportunities exists for them in the company to expand on their salad tossing talents.

What a disgrace this thread is.

Hopefully the toecutters can track a few of you morons down and you will be the first to lose your jobs.

I'm but a lowly SO just coming up to five years. A Captain that a few of you might know told me very early on that if he ever found me posting on Pprune he would personally chop my hands off.

I now know why.

Pull your heads in.

You'll be referring of course to the inflammatory and largely deranged posts of one individual.

One who has identified themselves as QF cabin crew. Whether they are or not is anybody's guess.

I'm one of several regular contributors who suspect that this individual may very well have been created as a "plant" to discredit the group as a whole.

The company have after all used pprune before to push their agenda.

As a lowly second officer may I offer you some constructive advise?

Patronizing condescension born out of a delusional superiority complex [based around your ability to fly an airplane ?] is both misguided and counter productive.

heads down you havc singlehandedly turned this thread into a load of crap. Seriously heads down, have you got some pathological impulse to tell everyone who works for Qantas that they are all mean, vindictive idiots. Have you taken a look in your own mirror. You are a seriously angry angry person. Your whole life is dictated by your attitude to it. I'm guessing yours is pretty sad overall.

Personally, lately, even though I'm a Qantas staff member, albeit an engineer, I have flown quite a bit lately with Qantas. Every flight left on time, the cabin crew were all attentive, polite and effective in their jobs, the aircraft were all in an excellent state of cleanliness. If I was a full fare paying passenger there would be nothing to complain about at all.

I'm glad I don't have to work with people like heads down.

Ditch

Me delusional???

Rest assured i know my position in the pecking order very well.

As i said I'm short time in, but you know what>>

I love my job, I work with people that i respect and like. That includes cabin crew, engineers, gate staff and anyone else who I share my work time with.

Call me naive, call me lucky but don't call me delusional. Apart from some professionally challenging moments, I'm no better or worse than any of you. My position means that I respect and am under the command of my skipper and my seniors. I share a workplace and time away from family and friends with all of you. We all make do, and for the most part I enjoy spending my time with my fellow workmates.

I just don't understand the vitriol and spite that seems to come from the handful of cabin crew on here.

Do I sometimes get angry and dissapointed with the company, of course I do. Do I disagree and feel unjustly treated by the company, sometimes of course.

My previous post has nothing to do with pilots v cabin crew, it was simply an observation that some of the behaviour on this thread is disgusting and really I don't want to spend my working time with people who spew this crap out. I'm sure that some poor bastard that loves his or her job in Qantas is gonna get the pink slip and the those that remain are gonna be left with sad sacks like you lot.

Apologies to Captain xxxxxx I humbly offer both my hands.

Can Someone please start the new website called PCCRUNE ?
I don't know about other's opinions but this forum has become downright ridiculous since the latest round of CC came here and basically dumbed it all down. At least annotate the thread with CC in the title then I won't waste my time reading it in the first place!

For the love of God Heads Down, can you please stop posting.
English is obviously not your first language so that alone makes trying to read your posts excruciating.
You have single handedly given our wonderful cabin crew team a bad name amongst our fellow workmates - Congratulations!!
Ive been flying for almost 20 years and the crap you go on about is utter nonsense. Sure, this company has its problems - name one big company that doesnt. All I know is that I work for an airline with a very long and proud history - something I would like to see continued in the very small way that i am able to contribute.
What makes the place so great for me is hardly the managers, teamleaders, etc etc, but the people I have the pleasure to work with and those I come across on a daily basis from other departments.
Generally speaking, you could not ask for a better place to work. And after almost 2 decades in this company I can still safely say that. I am a realist. I know we live in an imperfect world. Sometimes the problems we encounter are of our own making. Im just doing the best I can with what I have been
given and making the most of it.
I wish all my fellow colleagues regardless of where you work, the best in these (temporary) troubled times.
Cheers
