Three aircraft diversions as an occasional ongoing cost in return for long term peace and security seems like a good deal

The whole thing should have gone to Mildenhall.

What Alberto Martin, Luton’s CEO fails to mention, is that his company refused to fund it. Actually I don’t blame them, as they get the benefits for nothing.

Perhaps, but compton3bravo makes a valid point in that if the US President requires / insists upon this level of security then landing at Mildenhall or perhaps Farnborough would make more sense?

As an arriving passenger I wouldn't be overly chuffed at being dumped at an alternative airport to accommodate anyone's arrival even if he is a head of state.

There was also a Tui B737Max Bristol diversion just before midnight from Enfidha with the pax bussed to Bristol with the aircraft positioning back this morning. Whether it was crew hours or tech although Tui are apparently having both technical and crewing issues at the moment.

The TUI diversion last night was weather related (out of limit cross-winds at BRS)

Luton just took Wizzair UK & x3 Easyjet diversions due to Emirates A380 issue at LGW.
All flight planned back to LGW tonight.

Gone are the days of anything interesting diverting in. Wizz and Easyjet are hardly worth a mention.

Sorry about that, a Norwegian & Iberia Express went to STN. I suspect the local ops had first dibs on their own colleagues.

People should watch the first 2 minutes. No sound for the first 40 seconds

Posted without comment and posted as on topic as they own the airport. The council has strange procedures.

Meeting opens with prayers, is that strange nowadays?

It would be helpful if all council “procedures” were conducted in English so we could all benefit from what was being said. He might have been praying out loud for a 32m passenger airport by spouting false information, so trying to influence Muslim councillors who had doubts.

You really are hooked, aren't you? As it was a Mayoral Investiture meeting is the choice something to do with either the incoming or outgoing mayor?

The comments were tongue in cheek regarding the airport.

I'm sure everyone is in good hands like New Jakarta airport, King Salman International, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib.

I'm sure they would love to if one existed.
You best get yourself back to college a design one which doesn't require half a mountain to be open mined to get rare elements to make a battery which is light enough, can power for more than a couple of hours and doesn't need to be dumped in landfill after use.
