National Express used to run double deckers to Luton from London but that was abandoned while Flixbus don’t operate to Luton.
Last Saturday I went from the Terminal to Paddington via the Dart then Thameslink to Hendon and then red buses to Paddington and back for £6.90, which is substantially cheaper than National Express while still using flexible any service tickets.
On the National Express service to Paddington the coaches seem to run with just a few passengers on them. I suspect that is because for the first few stops they are the same as the Victoria service so most passengers get off before Paddington.

Did a search on a bus travel engine and as well as National Express, you can do Terravision, Megabus & Arriva as well.
Perhaps they think they can pick up those lost Blue Air LHR passengers?

Noticed a Tender is out for runway resurfacing and LED ground lighting.
Tender also includes the bell mouth for the new taxiway Golf so appears it hasn’t all died a death and will still be built in the next couple of years.

“Every passenger using London Luton Airport and the Luton DART means more support for frontline services in Luton and vulnerable people in particular who most need the help we fund through our unique £7.4m annual contribution to local voluntary, community and charitable organisations.”

New or replacing a 320CEO ?
https://airlinergs.com/wizz-air-grow...1neo-aircraft/
Couldn't see anything on Jethros when it is usually very good on such things but with new frames coming off the Chinese production line as well now there could be a G-WUKx built awaiting delivery.
More routes to come or less being run by W6 ?

Couldn't see a Tender in the planning portal. Has it been submitted yet?

Re the Wizzair article: Based on my schedule analysis I think Wizzair up their Luton based fleet from 11 to 12 when new flights to Brasov launch at the start of August.

Thanks, only design tender at this stage then so no contract for the actual engineering work but as had been said before, it usually goes to the same firm.
I wonder if that Bell mouth is off Alpha or opposite Kilo so pushback from the 90 stands can be done with shortened interruption of flow up/down Delta & Foxtrot?

Is 6,500 above or below what the DART needs to be paying the interest on the DART-related debts in full and make a start on paying off the capital ? Would anyone be able to say how many pax the DART needs to carry each day to be financially worthwhile ?

I have used it several time, it is certainly a game changer but I can’t say I have seen any passengers looking that excited or even bothered, as they just stand there texting, as there are very few seats but it is quicker.
Once again there is no mention that the auditors have stated that £187m of its cost is unrecoverable based on usage projections, so maybe that answers davidjohnson6 question. So who covers the unrecoverable debt?
Also many passengers don’t have to pay including airport workers and pensioners.

The extra capacity means Wizz will be able to offer more than 12 million seats per year from Luton.
