Re Border Control
My understanding is that there will be no new physical check on outbound pax at airports. Instead, the requirement for increased monitoring of people leaving the UK will be achieved through the current method of airlines collecting passenger data and passing it to the control authorities. So there will be no need for segregation.
The main impact of the tightening up on controls will be on Eurotunnel and ferry operators, which do not currently keep passenger records in the same way as airlines do. This is causing some headaches for those operators - with one report in today's papers predicting 5 mile queues at the Eurotunnel terminal in Kent!

Re CX
For MAN to achieve identical LF in only the 3rd month of operation strikes me as pretty impressive. Yes, I know LHR has 5 flights daily, presumably all with First and yields are more important blah blah, but I trust CX are well pleased with how things are shaping up at MAN. Still, it's vital to keep that momentum going to justify a daily flight at some stage, which hopefully will be sooner rather than later.
Spanners, do you know if the plan is to switch to the A350 when it's available?

87% for the same month.

The original plan several years ago was to reintroduce a MAN service when the 350 came online in 2016. Obviously this changed somewhat.
The question was asked recently, the answer was that the 350 will come to Europe, possibly new destinations possibly for a 2nd flight to an already established route, MAN if it continues as is will stick with the 777, if successful frequency may increase!
Of course if someone else were to fly to MAN from the region then CX would react to it.

Groningen - Manchester
As I am from that region in the Netherlands I would be jumping up and down from joy if that route would start but the actual Dutch article only states that the airport is negotiating with a few airlines and only mentions FlyBe by name.
Apparent justification is the high volume of business travellers (without giving any figures though) but anyone travelling from the north of NL and neighbouring Germany has to travel at least 2 hours to get to AMS or a bit less to get to Hamburg.
I believe RyanAir ceased MAN - Bremen which is not that far from GRQ so there might be a gap but I would be highly (yet pleasantly) surprised if this one would go ahead.
Groningen is a lovely little hidden gem in the far north of NL though. Worth a visit

Didn't they briefly operate Den Helder from MAN last year before dropping it?

Not sure Flybe would like to step on their own toes operating both AMS and GRQ, as the AMS service already seems to be struggling.

FR missed approach
I noticed it on FR24 and it appeared to come very close to a Flybe flight landing just before hand and gained on it rapidly during descent. It looked ominously close at one point. It then seemed to abandon the landing in the last few seconds and it looked like a near miss from FR24.

don`t forget that flybe don`t show all the way down the approach
as don`t a number of commuter operators but look as if they have
stopped on approach so not always reliable

Something in the Gov's TransNorth announcement small print
as part of ‘TransNorth’, work will begin on better connecting Manchester airport to neighbouring cities in order to boost international links and make the north more globally competitive. There will also be a review for regional airports affected by the recent devolution of air passenger duty

In some ways, I found the first sentence about better connecting Manchester Airport more interesting than the vague 'review' re. the devolution of APD.
Still, well spotted Betablockeruk.
