ABZ-LHR Best time
Thanks Throw a Dyce...Dan Air would seem a likely bet!
Still think I read/heard somewhere that a BA TriStar, with some help from a favourable tail wind and cooperative ATC did it in a shade under 50 minutes one Oil Week many moons ago...but this might be my imagination.
Happy days...!

Hi
I posted this on the BA thread in this forum (I don't have access to the main BA forums)
Can anyone please supply me with an email contact for someone in Customer Services at BA. I wrote to them on 1st December regarding their decision to pull the ABZ to LGW flights and I haven't had the decency of an acknowledgement, let alone a reply.
My complaint is regarding their inflexibility to allow me to change my LGW to ZRH booking to LHR to ZRH.
Thanks in anticipation.

ABZ-LTN delays today
The 15:50 ABZ-LTN today was darned nearly 2 hrs late takeoff. Info to pax from El Capitano was that ABZ had only one de-icer and there were discussions over priority of usage.
That seems very odd to me - this is the day that the weather forecasters had been predicting (and got) snow so there can have been no surprise over the weather.
My questions:
1. Is it true ABZ has only one deicer? Is this perhaps adequate?
2. How come deicer priority issues can delay a flight by 2 hours ?!?! That seems excessive when spraying an aircraft takes a matter of minutes and there was not exactly busy traffic at ABZ today.
I notice the 0855 departure was a similar amount late this morning. Coincidence?
Perhaps there was something else going on? I just can't believe the story given at face value, I'm afraid.
Thankfully the wee bairn was very well behaved.

Servisair used to have their own deicing rig, with their withdrawal it would suggest the rig may not have been replaced by Flight Support as part of their presence.
Was in the terminal the other day and amused to note the Servisair signs reversed (front to back) outside the old Servisair ticket desk and office instead of removed

1. No.. I'm sure it would be if it were true.
2. If de-icer vehicles happen to not work for example handling agents (rent, borrow) from other handling agents, but have to wait in turn for the de-icer to do their own planes first. simple
P.S de-icing takes more then a few minutes

Beg,steal or borrow.Just about sums it up.I'm not surprised EZY had to wait. The handling companies can hardly manage to tell their aircraft about their slot times. They can't even push aircraft through 90deg,to comply with standard pushbacks off some stands.De-icing well? We'll look forward to the first real dump of snow then.

Throwadyce this problem is not confined to ABZ. At most of the UK airports I have operated from I remember occasions where ATC have told us we have a slot just after our request for pushback. On subsequently cancelling the pushback request we call our handling agents for verification only to find they still have no information about any slot.
It would seem ATC's communication link with Brussels is much speedier than the SITA or whatever system handlers use. This has been going on for years and I don't think it is a case of handling companies "hardly managing".

Complaint
c2lass
Sadly I cannot help with an email address.
Might I suggest you try re-sending a letter, marked personal and sent recorded delivery to:
William Walsh Esq.
CEO British Airways Plc
Waterside
PO Box 365
Harmondsworth
Middlesex
UB7 0GB
I did in the late summer. Whilst it took two weeks before someone replied-to advise that Mr Walsh was aware of my letter- and a further two weeks for it to be sorted, my complaint was dealt with eventually and to my satisfaction. A cheque was sent to me and my airmiles were given a healthy top up, gratis, in recompense.
Good luck!

P and J gets it wrong...
Almost choked on my porridge whilst reading a leader in today's P and J (page 13) that states:
"Following from the Pre-Christmas announcement that British Airways is cancelling its Aberdeen to Heathrow service in the spring..."
Good old Press and Journal...even the leader writers can't tell the difference between LHR and LGW.

Sorry FS01 but I wouldnt say keeping PAX on board an A/C (BE7007) for 20mins because they had no one to meet the flight a "fantastic job"
Are they STILL waiting in CONES in ABZ?

Thanks very much for supplying me with that information and that is what I am away to do right now. I will let you know of the outcome.
PS For the last week or so I have not being getting my notification emails of any replies and I am definitely subscribed to these threads Anyone else experiencing this?
