The 15:50 ABZ-LTN today was darned nearly 2 hrs late takeoff. Info to pax from El Capitano was that ABZ had only one de-icer and there were discussions over priority of usage.
That seems very odd to me - this is the day that the weather forecasters had been predicting (and got) snow so there can have been no surprise over the weather.
My questions:
1. Is it true ABZ has only one deicer? Is this perhaps adequate?
2. How come deicer priority issues can delay a flight by 2 hours ?!?! That seems excessive when spraying an aircraft takes a matter of minutes and there was not exactly busy traffic at ABZ today.
I notice the 0855 departure was a similar amount late this morning. Coincidence?
Perhaps there was something else going on? I just can't believe the story given at face value, I'm afraid.
Thankfully the wee bairn was very well behaved.
