I went out to check as I heard this as well in Newmachar...... I'm almost certain it was an orbiting Nimrod flying from the North of the city out over the sea then turning back to the South of the city and heading North again before repeating. It flew over head my house every 7 or 8 minutes. I saw / heard it four times before it disappeared. The nav lights and beacon were clearly visible but it was difficult to make out the type. However given the fruity grunt almost defintely a Nimrod. The smoky trail would have been a give away if it wasn't dark!

New Flybe NCL-ABZ

See on their website & the NCL thread that they are launching 6x weekly NCL-ABZ from 30/3.

Slowly but surely they are creeping on Eastern's patch.

Connected to their new base at NCL.

Prob Q400.

What are Eastern going to do about this? or are they just sticking their head in the sand and hope it all goes away?

BAA have impounded a City Star charter at ABZ according to the STV news - not looking good for City Star it seems.

That doesn't look good for City Star.

Costs of operating out of ABZ catching up with them?

Plus they bought Caley Airborne recently, was it an acquisition too many?

From City Star Airlines website:

City Star Airlines cease operations
January 30, 2008
As of 00:00 on (Wednesday) January 30, 2007 City Star Airlines is ceasing all operations until further notice.
“In the aftermath of the incident at Aberdeen Airport on November 25, 2007 involving City Star Airlines Dornier 328-100 aircraft TF-CSB and mobile passenger steps from SGS Ground Handling Aberdeen, we suffered the immediate loss of an aircraft which required us to take emergency measures to secure continued operation, explained Runar Fossadal Arnason, managing director of City Star Airlines.
“Unfortunately the incident has had a major knock on effect and we have simply not been able to recover from this and as of midnight tonight have ceased all operations.”

Looks like tonights Oslo will be the last flight

So do we believe that the loss of one a/c had such a knock on effect that it has forced a cessation of ALL ops?

More to it than that?

OSL might be filled, can't see the others.

Laughably, apparently the plans for the proposed ABZIAH link remain UNAFFECTED by all this.

'Cause that's City Star EXECUTIVE...

Give it up lads the game's a bogey...
