BA are forecasting a drop in pax using the LGWABZ route once IAH moves across to LHR from LGW.
Flybe have said they would be interested (presume E195 if they do pick it up). They do LGWINV so maybe they see LGWABZ as too good an opportunity to pass up.
We shall see.

See aircraft are having to carry out a spot of "chicanary" at the mo due to part of the "W" taxiway being closed off.
Just general "wear & tear", or has the recent warm weather been cracking the tarmac again?

195 will overnight at ABZ to operate the Gatwick, 1x daily at weekends.
If Flybe's actions match their words, looks like T3 may have to run for cover...talking about LBA (despite its imminent axing), MAN, NWI, NCL (T3 serve all bar MAN) & that on top of SOU already announced, which T3 also serve.
Wonder what "euro routes" they would be talking about...SVG probably!
If all these come to fruition (Mike Rutter was talking "in the next 12mths") it sounds like ABZ could become a Flybe base? (And where would they park their a/c? )

FlyBe and Flight Support
Interesting reading all this, but my reaction to FlyBe expanding out of ABZ is a definite yes. With Flight Support going into ABZ and with their relationship with FlyBe you would guess that there is definate plans to expand. Why else would FS go in.
It is standard procedure to push on time to remote hold for bmi.
If you are loaded, signed off and ready to go you can easily take advantage of an earlier slot if it comes up - which it often does.

Hmm yes the 'bmi best off blocks time', Air uk/KLMuk were notorious for this during my time as a dispatcher at Aberdeen, they were forever on the phone after the flight had departed arguing with dispatch as to who they could blame for the delay. If I remember right they used a table of delay codes that blamed various companies/reasons and invariably ATC would get it. It was never the fault of the Airline or the ground staff messing up the check in figures etc... Richard, I bet you remember this well!
Bmi can push back from the gate and hold for 30mins and it's all the fault of ATC.

haha I knew somebody would say that! And yes I see your point, but with a slot delay is it fair to blame ATC itself or is that not just simply overcrowding of the system?
In the past I used to see them blame ATC when they had failed to get all the pax to the gate in time, the aircraft loses it's slot and so therefore they blamed ATC.
More to the point, if the airline are claiming to the public that they are the most punctual, is this not false advertising? I may be wrong but don't they just have to push back on time to class that as an 'on time departure?' Regardless who is to blame, if they arrive in destination 30 mins late, then thats not very punctual in my book.

My time at Air UK was spent in amongst missing bl**dy bags mainly from the Amsterdam flights!!!
You could guarantee at least 5-10 missing bags off that flight each flight!
Think I do recall one discrepancy in counting the boarding tickets v no. passengers expected but it was getting on for 10yrs ago, my memory's going & I'm getting old!!!
But it was just at the time when Air UK was becoming KLMuk & all regional routes flown were for the chop.
