Very sad news for Almat and the staff.

HW,can you elaborate on your last post?

Does anyone know when there will be any sort of announcement re Cov reopening?

Companies need to know asap!

My mate just bought an airport from a bloke in a pub. He only went looking for a dodgy flat screen TV...

He should have bought the flat screen TV, he would have got more use out of that!

any updates?

What's the latest on CVT I keep hearing some rumours that some staff have been told they can go back to work on 1st Feb ? Is there any truth in it and if so who are they going to be working for ? Has the airport now been sold ? It all seems to have gone very quiet!

Not if he bought any of the 50 inch screens that were nicked from the freight shed after we brought them back from the Channel Islands... They were all knackered, but they were stolen from the "secure" area anyway...

the best protector

Rumours say an announcement of good news tomorrow but there are several other days in the last two weeks that the same could have been said about.

Sounds like somebody did you a favour then, if they were knackered it would have cost money just to dispose of them!

Almat

Tis a great shame about the demise of Almat-let's hope there is a saviour in the wings (no pun intended)
I learnt to fly with them and have spent many happy hours there both flying, learning ( recently got my NQ-thanks Jeremy) and being a general gopher in my free time, making tea, fuelling and seeing the enjoyment of people to whom flying was a new experience.
A great bunch of people and I shall miss their company enormously.
To all the guys there-thanks, and I hope you get fixed up with new jobs soon.

Breakfast News

I am at the moment in the Oak as when I came out of Atlantic yesterday from Ground school, my car wouldn't start so I stayed the night here and just got up for breakfast.

There are two guys in here....SAME TWO as before and an announcement WILL Be made either this afternoon OR latest tomorrow morning depending upon 'something'...... which I couldn't hear properly.

Something about completing due dilligence by the end of this week but exclusive until end of the month but don't think they will need to ?

One thing I CAN confirm is they are NOT selling Telly's !!

Glad to hear it. Rumours abound at the Air Ambulance but nothing concrete. Switzerland has 4 official languages and most of them speak English as well! Fingers crossed for news today

Oh dear...I must stop posting about the Teles in the Pub........

It seems the Swiss guy in the pub was 'doing an ET' and 'phoning Home'.

Friend of a friend at Coventry Council just sent me a text that says that 'there are people running around here like headless chickens this morning with egg on their faces as a Swiss company who WERE going to take the airport forward, have pulled out' this morning. She will try to find out more for me later but can't stop now as due back in ground school !!

With CCC's past record, it could well be something to do with them being at bit too demanding. I do hope this isn't history repeating itself.
