When did he start making the laws of the land?
Has he put a bid in for Coventry?

Godwin

Hi guys
I think he was an ATC chappie, met him in a bar years ago near Coventry.
You know the type drank real ale and had a bushy beard!

well penelope maybe the fact that alot of people lost their jobs just before christmas with bills to pay etc and alot more people are worried about it going the same way for themselves might be the reason you touched a nerve.

Let's face it penelope,

CVT closure it is and it has been a disgrace since the start of it...

- first of all for all the personnel working in CVT, who were without a job before Christmas.

- of course it's bad for all the TO based in CVT; don't we forget than ALMAT Flying Club went into administration one week ago; and it went bust due CVT closure of course.

- Atlantic Airlines has its maintenance in CVT; moving everything outside the place it will be a big problem as you can imagine.

- same thing for RVL and West Atlantic

I'm sure it's not possible for everyone one to say "alright guys we're moving to Birmingham tomorrow"... Move business like those will be a great mess ayway, with a loads of costs anyway... Unexpected costs in the worse moment for aviation.

Anyway... CVT is unsafe at the moment... It might be unsafe as any farm strip, but for commercial training for example you can't take off nor land from a unlicensed aerodrome... Moreover there is no service at all in CVT and all CVT based TOs would prefer a place with fuel, fire service and ATC or FIS or A/G...

They might decide to fly for the time being, but it won't last for ever... Soon or later, everyone will call himself out of CVT... At that point CVT will be a new symbol on a UK chart... And we'll call it "CVT disused"...

Sadly, as far as I can see, that will be the closest possibility...

..............Two guys go into a Pub, first one is overheard ordering from the 'Two for a tenner' menu and the second one is speaking in French again on the phone to someone.

THEY ARE BACK HERE - IN THE PUB - AS I AM WRITING THIS AT THIS MOMENT !! Same two guys, definitely about the airport and DEFINITELY meeting with CCC this afternoon. ....I can even tell you what they have ordered at the bar !

My friends friend at CCC tells me they have a scheduled meeting today with the foreign bidder and whilst the deal is NOT what was originally put forward, CCC are desperate for them to take it on apparently.

Also, overheard them saying to someone that the liquidators have told them and CCC that if a deal is not done by the weekend they will start selling the assets off frm the airfield !

That ties in, lets hope the council truely realises the position they've got themselves in and takes up the offer whatever it is.

Lets get off this roller coaster huh!

Here's hoping they extract the digit this time and get something organised. It would be a shame for the airport to go to ruin for lack of interest/application by the council

Can't believe the gullibility of some of the people on here, so obvious Nav3 is on a wind up!

Everybody saying things like "yeah, i've heard it's going to open on the 18th too", adding spurious legibility to things.

Yes, you've heard it because the rumours started on here, somebody was told about it, who told somebody else, before you know it you've all heard about it from several different sources which means it must be true!

Fair play to Nav3 though, must be choking on his pint in the Oak as we speak(in either French or German possibly!)

Whether he is on a windup or not, it still ties in with what some of us are hearing.

Im just curious, but as the airport is closed/unlicensed. Can you still fly in as a PPL holder? I assume PPR of the council/land owner?

I assume they didnt lay off the person who collects the landing fees??
