Fuel shouldn't be having much of an impact. In 2010 it made up about 16% of their costs and currently 90% hedged (67% for 2012).
Also the share price of their peers hasn't been hit as much, especially in the last week. From an investors perspective I can't see what else could be causing this recent weakness other than possible industrial action.

Don't hold out any hope that your NO votes will result in anything more on offer. The current BALPA touring circus has been rather enlightening and shows why they have failed so emphatically to achieve anything, even with an 80% mandate from the last ballot.
When they reach your base, see what they have to say for themselves. Management apologists and trying to employ scare tactics against FOs in particular to encourage everyone to vote YES. Quite disgusting in my view and they seem to have forgotten just who they are representing. Makes you wonder if they are getting a nice little backhander from our directors to scupper the vote.
Time for a vote of no confidence in the entire CC and get some reps with a bit of backbone and who don't invest their time in promoting their own pet projects.

I would have said that i am sure the BALPA reps would never be swayed by management just to get us to vote yes, but i have heard the same sorry story from several different sources from several different bases!1

I spent a good bit of time chatting to the reps. One was very much trying to sell me the current offer. He seemed fed up with the whole thing and just wanted it to be over. The other was of the opinion that it was my vote to use as I wished. I feel that recommendation was a condition of the company.
The long and short of it was that very little more will come from negotiation and I guess we all know what comes next. Now is the time to show some backbone and not be pushed around.

Why does management make it like this??
Crews are fed up, tired, broke and p*ssed off!!
Just reading the BMI thread here, apparently things are picking up nicely from their insecurity of the take over, crews are happy, salary is ok, rosters are fine!
There are endless companies out there, BA, virgin, monarch, Thompson, BMI to name but a few where people are happy to join, work and stay for a career!
Why do Flybe management seem to be going out of their way to upset people, make people want to leave and are only happy with their new cadets on the lowest salaries????
They will take the credit when things go well and accept the awards, but not bothered about their staff!!

Get your CVs polished because from what I hear BA and Easy will almost certainly open up soon...
I'll keep voting No until it's a realistic offer (RPI minimum then RPI +X)
Anyone else feel it's time for a few changes down in Exeter? From my limited business knowledge and common sense I don't think many good decisions are being made down there.... Hopefully the share holders will carry out a few lynchings. Because Jim that's who you answer to now, Just like your lowly paid pal Willie does.

No from me
I hope what you are saying is right, my CV is polished and re-polished and my No vote is with the Royal Mail on the way to Balpa.
What were they thinking about, why did they write in the letter we strongly advice to vote in favor? what world do they live in?
Whatever the outcome Im going to give myself a pay rise of 1% at the end of this ordeal.

Dont know whats on the agenda but i have heard some balpa reps saying they are voting no , and i've listened (and read letters from reps basically telling us to vote yes ) This makes me feel very very uncomfortable. We all pay a lot of money to Blapa ................how dare they advise me how to vote ................do they not think i'm intelligent enough to decide myself. Maybe balpa have been influenced depending on what "superior" fleet they are going to move on to !!!!

HidekiTojo,
Good luck, get your CV into BA or Easy or who ever else. I am assume you work for Flybe, if that is the case, no one forced you to work for Flybe, so if you are not happy, I wish you well. Good bye.

We have been told this week that due to our "great and glorious" flight efficiency scheme, we have saved £1.3 million. We could have been getting to destinations early, we could have been flying at MCR speeds, we could have been using APU power as opposed to GPU power on a freezing cold day, we could have done 101 other things that would have cost the company more than we actually did.
Morale in FlyBE is at a critically low point. Those who are voting yes to this deal, are typically self-interested, hyprocrits - eg - those who don't give a rats tail about what the conditions are like for everyone else.
Above all else though, we do try and arrive on time for each and every flight. It's not easy, bearing in mind many factors - including the technical reliability of the Dash, we make up lost time. We will remain professional about our jobs, despite that fact that most of us are physically exhausted from working incredibly long (but they're OK, because the system says it's legal!!) duties.
Our madate isn't to get passengers from A to B on time... but to get them from A to B safely.
And is it easy to do that when you've slept for 2 hours, you're worried about the next bill arriving on your doorstep, you can't afford petrol, you're physically exhausted after a long week of work and you're living on utterly sh!t food on the aircraft.

Assymetricdrift,
Well said mate I think your views which are exactly the same as mine and are hopefully what most people think to.
Safety which you brought up is not "prime importance " anymore its all down to people at the top making as much money as possible. No matter how much profit is made ....its never enough. Misery for the workforce is an acceptable price to pay for just that little bit more profit
And the way we get treated through the scheduling agreement and day to day rostering happens very simply because they can ...........human nature
Finally add all that up and what you get as a reason is GREED
Guys wake up and just understand the very very simple fact ..........they are not nice people simple as that !!!!!
(cant find a" sad" icon to put here )

As has been pointed out no one forced you to join Flybe. They clearly don't care about you, an attitude they also carry over to their pax from what I can see. But all those waiting for Easyjet to open up, I hope it's not a vast pay increase you think you'll be moving for. Once you pay for a TR and get screwed on the contract you may be losing sleep for a different reason.
