Slim20
Good post from you again begins to display a more moderate atitude which is all one would expect. My comment of halfwits and fools applies to the consistant moaners on this forum, the one's that never post any of the positives and attempt to sink others to their depths of dispair.
I agree with you that a certain amount of moaning is therapuetic but there is a limit to how much threapy is needed. In order to lighten our work load and continue the expansion easy needs to attract more pilots and some of the mindless drivel that gets posted by a few unhappy soles does put potential recruits off.
Most of the drivel is stuff that I've heard in every airline I've worked for, and only displays the fact that these individuals are clearly unsuited for a working life in modern aviation. Unfortunately every airline has a sprikling of them and they are usually ignored its when they vent their nonsence in public continuiosly that it gets more than a little irritating!
Everyone of us would like to see change for the better but we do have to make the best of what we have so far its not perfect but it feeds the kids and pays the morgage and leaves enough for a fancy sports car so it can't be all that bad!
In your own words Slim20 live with it! and keep trying for better!

Q for Col Klink
Col Klink,
You said that the pay schedule was completed, being voted on by CC yesterday and be in pay packets by the end of April.
Also a bit about rostering ... may be an interesting week.
For those of us who are seriously thinking about jumping ship to easy can you elaborate and give us some more details on these areas.
Ta

UNABLE,
Here we go again!
Everybody wants what is best and hope for much needed improvement to working practises.
You cannot sit there, if we are in the same company , and choose to see things only from what seems to me a brainwashed point of view ( or maybe you are doing the brainwashing? ).
The assumption that it is the same everywhere else is not quite true.
I never thought much of Ryanair air or easy jet for that matter prior to joining but you will be surprised to know that I do enjoy my job here like you do, that is is the reason why I crave for the simple changes for me to regard it as a carrer airline ( which it is not at the moment!).
The people at Ryanair must be in the position we can envy.
It is apparent that they are happy with their lot even though they are worked hard.
NOW! THAT IS THE POSITION WE WANT TO GET TO. AS OF NOW WE ARE ONLY RUNNING A DISTANT SECOND.
What a shame for an airline that has so much potential

uneasy....
I dont think the majority of Ryanair staff are happier than we are.
The grass just SEEMS greener.............
Yes life in eJ is far from perfect. Many of the comments here may seem overly optimistic to you, but some of us just want to balance the exaggerated negativity displayed by some.
Nothing will improve significantly at eJ, until we can get more people represented by the union. The apathy of nearly 50% of the pilots, is what the management thrive on.

The Balpa website details the pay review results. The lifestyle/rostering negotiations are still in the mix and will be reviewed/updated up to 30 April.
It is vital that the pay and lifestyle issues are negotiated separately. So although the pay deal may be on the table, the slavery will continue for a little while longer!
You are spot-on with your point about the company informing non-Balpa members about lifestyle improvements - and they will make it sound like it was all their idea!!

I doubt that 4% over 1.5 years (0.16% above RPI inflation) will do much to aid retention.
Its a bit depressing that the nations fastest growing most profitable airline is only willing to offer an inflation only payrise.
If only more pilots would join the Union then there is no reason at all why BA and better T&C's could be 'agreed'. Too many pilots are greedy, lazy, illogically union hating to get off their backsides and join I guess.
If EZY up'd the ante then other UK airlines would have to follow.
Boo.

VERILY I SAY UNTO THEE,
THE SLAVERY SHALL LONG CONTINUE INTO THESE END DAYS. THERE SHALL BE DARK CLOUDS OF UNCERTAINTY AND A GREAT HOLD OF FEAR AND INSECURITY. THERE WILL BE FALSE PROPHECYING, DREAMERS ALL, AND THESE SHALL PERMEATE THE EXTENT OF THE GLOBE.
IT SHALL TAKE SUCH A GREAT EVIL HOLD THAT YOUR RESOLVE WILL BE SORELY TESTED... AND JUST AS IT ALL SEEMS HOPELESS,
THE OLD TRADITIONALIST WILL START TO RISE, TO TAKE THEIR PRIDE OF PLACE AND THESE SAME WILL RESTORE YOUR DIGNITY. AND NONSENSE WILL NO LONGER PERVADE THE AVIATION TURF AND THE WORLD WILL KNOW PEACE AT LEAST UNTIL THE PRESENT DAY AVIATORS LEAVE THE SCENE, WHEN IT WILL BE TIME FOR THE CYCLE TO REPEAT ITSELF.
THESE WISE WORDS SAYETH I
AND JUST AS THERE IS DAY AND NIGHT, IT SHALL SURELY COME TO PASS.
STAY BLESSED.

A big thankyou to all the fence sitters at ej, willing to watch while the rest pay their subs so that our reps can try and negotiate a better deal for us ALL!! Thankyou all for undermining us with your spineless, penny-pinching attitude. You will go far!

Headbutt,
For many years I've fought the battle with many people over BALPA. Last week, after a good hearted and reasoned discussion with a very enthusiastic BALPA rep, I decided to join. He was able to make me realise where things were going, what the benefit would be and that perhaps the other issues I have were not really so bad. Now this is a personal choice i have made, others may yet have to make it, but it is not made any easier by loud mouthed anonymous tossers like you shouting the odds.
Leave the recruitment of new members to the professionals, they do a great job. Your just going to alienate people with your childish drivel !

ezy's market leading pay deal.
STOP PRESS, STOP PRESS, STOP PRESS,
4% pay rise over 18 months, equating to approx 2.66% increase
2.66% increase on sector pay
phasing out of loyalty bonus, for those who have been at ezy 5 years or more, that equals 10% year on year when the company is in profit(by more than 1p)
(5% for those who have been at the company 2-5 years)
Introduction of profit share which only kicks in when the company have made an undisclosed profit,
And finally, all the trainers pensionable allowance increase by an additional 2.5%(guess what, the BALPA committee is almost all trainers)
An earth shattering deal which has been fully endorsed by BALPA and ezy managemeny alike.
For further information refer to thread on ezy staff leaving for greener pastures.

Hi SS
I take it you've read the pay offer? I sometimes like to think of the glass as half full, in this case I appreciate a 4% pay rise now rather than dividing it by 18 months and looking at it as inflationary. The loyalty scheme was already shot last year when they blocked F/Os from getting it until command. Trainers work a darn sight harder than the rest and should get some higher compensation from spending most of their time trucking over and back to Luton four days a week.
What do you think our Balpa CC should have gone for? 6%? 10%? £10m to split between us? The difference between what EZY is willing to pay for and what we want them to pay for is the basis for union negotiations. I think this is pretty good considering what the company actually was going to give us - especially as there is progress on the rostering front.
It's not the best we could have got, or even hoped for. But that's 21st century business sense for you.
I'm voting yes - but I'm willing to join you on the picket lines if that's the way the vote goes.
