You could try IFR. Nothing to stop a basic PPL flying IFR outside controlled airspace. Dont make the mistake of confusing IFR (rules) with IMC (met. conditions).

I agree about Norwich, tho it did cost me about £28 including about 4 hours parking on teh main terminal, but I got a ride of about 50' on the little milk float..... Very friendly and good service.
