Border Radar

Happy New Year All.
I was one of the last ATSAs at Border before it closed. Detached from Scottish it was a great unit with a great boss in George Brown. Fond memories indeed!

Could Anyone become an ATCO

Its amazing how the foot switch makes life easier for us as lefties. The number of ATC desks that are right hand orientated. Makes a foot switch a bit of a necessity:ugh:

Frtol Exam

Hopefully the examiners will be given a heads up on how it will happen. Not all examiners are controllers so other than the disc and CAP what training will they have had?

Cool MARGO

Margo was indeed one of the best ATSA's. She always kept an eye on the new starts on her watch and gave advice second to none. She certainly deserves a great retirement.

Bullying/Victimisation

Not just at ACC's but aerodromes too. Bullying and Victimisation can be the worst thing for anyone. It can occur in all walks of the profession.
Fortunately I've not seen it very often at any ATSU...

Buzzerfish, what exactly do you mean? Is it the fact that Hurns instructors are having are harder time of it? The numbers larger

ATC Jobs at EGPE

How many jobs are there going at EGPE? From previous posts I thought
HIAL were training most of their own staff for Inverness on radar?
If OJTI is a pre requisite for this post surely others...

Not to sure what you mean by this post.
Depending on the size of unit some assistants are given a yearly check.
Nearly all assistants will have had some form of training.

I must agree that it is a sad reflection that many pilots appear not to appreciate some of the intricacies of RTF. Within UK it is a pity that once a pilot has been through the FRTOL exam...
