An OJTI Certificate in APS is essential...
No doubt the highly skilled ATC Numpty Managers at INV advised the highly qualified numpty HR bods when writing this advert....
Something to do with CAP744, minimum experience requirements at a unit before one can carry out OJTI duties, 12 months min etc....

Me thinks the Pig Farmer got his trotters twisted when writing this one...

They obviously had Word spell checker switched off when writing the job description!

ATC jobs at EGPE

Have to agree does HIAL management and HR not read through their job descriptions etc prior to putting it out to the world of ATC? Is it really that difficult or do they just not care!

Spellchucker

Aww c'mon -- we all make mistooks.
Applying for this post could be considered a big one - but are HIAL any worse than the various alternative ATCO employers?

I don't think that HIAL are a particularly bad employer, the pay and conditions are OK, it's just the way the company is run from the top.
It pretends to be an independant concern when it is, always was and always will be reliant on (dare I say it...) the Scottish taxpayer via Whitehall.

The Board talk a good talk, but talk is about all they do, Management do a damned good impression of Reggie Perrin and the employees get on with running the company (in triplicate).

OJTI

Methinks that a dispensation will be forthcoming from SRG. It will be a new service therefore impossible to fulfil the MER in the normal way.

It's a classic isn't it?
Mind you, I had a sense of humour when I first joined. These days, what's left of it tends to fail as frequently as the radar.

Actually it's the British taxpayer via Holyrood. The Scotch aren't allowed to raise their own taxes so they borrow everyone else's.

ATC Jobs at EGPE

How many jobs are there going at EGPE? From previous posts I thought
HIAL were training most of their own staff for Inverness on radar?
If OJTI is a pre requisite for this post surely others already at Inverness will already have sufficient time on radar to do OJTI before any new recruit is up and running?

They have been.

Yes, one would have thought that would be the case.
Wots the money like?

Same point. Until Oor Alex has the guts to use Holyrood's tax-raising powers, all taxes are British (well, UK-ish for the pedants).
