Well kids...I got the infamous 'thanks, but no thanks' email tonight. Only took them 9 weeks from my seminar (post medical, post references, etc).
Thanks so much for all your support and best wishes during this time.
Off to have a well earned sav blanc...again!

I can see the logic there Mr Seatback
Let's not hire you with all of your experience and loyalty to the Qantas group, but.... we'll call up MAM casuals who were not successful the first time to reapply and interview again so they answer the questions the right way second time around and be hired.
The swiss cheese model strikes again !
I just don't get the way this company recruits.
I can hear the rumble of a 777-300ER engine spooling up in the distance Mr Seatback......see you there with plenty of flair !

Ohhhhh....Mr Seatback2!! I'm sorry to hear about the e-mail. A newbie and I were talking about you today and how much we hoped you would be joining QCCA. But we agreed that you are destined for great things and I wish you all the best in the industry. You will be amazing wherever you work....shame I won't be part of it. All the best xx

Mr Seatback 2
If only these hereos were brave enough to give some 'very brief feedback' rather than keep you waiting.
9 weeks is damn harsh. I experienced 5 weeks - that nearly killed me...to no avail.
I believe Emirates are conducting open days this month in AUS.
Try your luck there....at least your 'winged' long-haul...a yr or so's time, QF will be knocking on your door!!
All the very best

Sorry to hear you got knocked back mr seatback.
Can't help but think it had something to do with your posting on here.
Wouldn't have been too difficult for QF HR to work out who you were considering your history for the past 7 years or so has been documented on this forum.

I would doubt that very much twiggs...whilst those that know me personally would probably identify me easily, I doubt very much QF HR are that clued in.
Given their workload, I would also doubt they have the time to trawl through PPRUNE to identify me.
I have personal inklings on the reason why I didn't get in. And it has nothing to do with PPRUNE.

a word of caution
Qantas management print off pages of conversations in here. They have theories only as to who might be whom posting on here. My experience is that often they think they have it right and are actually way off the mark.
Having said that, some on here provide a little too much personal info and those that are good at crosswords or puzzles often put the pieces together.
Personally i would not be bothered if i were them but then some of our management are strange creatures and puzzles are there to be solved.
By all means ask questions, pose answers or responses but try not to give too much personal info

Looks like ANZ is doing the same as us.
So what was QFQCCA was going on about?
If Veronica/QFQCCA had it their way with no B scale
I reckon Dixon would be setting up more bases overseas and no jobs at all under any conditions would be here for them to complain about. How about the ones blueing about the new jobs go up to shanghai and apply for a job there and see how many bucks you can make there.
You'll save heaps because food and a flat doesn't cost much up there but I hope you like rice because you'll be eating it 3 times a day..
Air New Zealand has also been defending the rates it pays to its Shanghai-based air crew after facing a barrage of negative publicity for paying Chinese cabin crew far lower rates than their New Zealand counterparts.

I imagine a room full of application piles. Some yes, no or pending. 3 months down the track the pile of pending is ever growing and waiting for the attention of somebody to investigate. Then a ground school is scheduled so we just take 20 off the yes pile please. And still the pending pile waits.
In the end it will take more people and money to go through the maybes. So then we reduce the criteria of which the previous people applied under, and push them through instead. An easy fix I guess.
I simply cannot understand any company knocking back experienced people who are clearly suited to the position, to me it just doesn't make sense.
Mr Seatback 2 in my opinion your rejection is the result of a faulty system. QF's loss my friend.

So sorry to hear that you got "THE" email, I was so looking forward to meeting you and working with you. I personnally think you will be fabulous no matter who you work for and with so much recruiting taking place in the industry I am sure you will be snapped up before you know it. I really want to wish you luck with your V interview and I have everything crossed for you.

Thanks to the long haul crew for their feedback and the standard bitchiness that I would come to expect, very similar to on board behaviour.
I am somewhat amused though, as you seem to think that QCCA crew should be grateful for all of the new flying positions that you have created, however I feel you should be thanking me because without QCCA crew your future would be looking very, very sad. Instead of being grateful to the QCCA for giving you a better range of flying and a stable future for the next five years you come back with your reality check comments and the comparison to ANZ shanghai based crew. If anyone needs a reality check it is QF Crew. As stated there are a lot of flying positions around at present so it wouldnt have been all doom and gloom if QCCA was not established except of course for QF long haul crew.
As Pegasus747 stated QCCA is the future, I am not interested in bidding or seniority and the sooner we see the back of it the better. If the company put it on the table to abolish it in the next EBA I will be voting yes now and I am sure every QCCA crew member would be doing the same as why would we vote for something that doesnt effect us and can only enhance our earning capacity. The sooner ALL crew have access to the flying the better and as an FAAA member I would expect the FAAA to ensure that is the case. The days of protecting existing QF crew will be long gone in the next four years or so.
I could spend all night giving witty and bitchy responses to your posts, but think I will leave that to the QF crew. All I can say is that I hope in 4 and half years or so QCCA outnumber current crew so that the majority can access the flying that will give us a decent pay, which after all is what all crew are after.
Oh and by the way for potential QCCA crew reading this thread be very careful when you read quotes for Pegasus and the like when they state QCCA crew can earn $50-$60K because that is just not possible unless you get high allowance trips and even some QF crew cant get those trips. As for promotions sure they are available but even if 50 positions were available (which they are not) the chances of scoring such a promotion is very slim. Go in with your eyes open bank of the $1100 per fortnight and small monthly allowances and you wont be disappointed.

QFQCCA,
the only thing i would say is that there are many airlines around the world recruiting and even some in Australia. if you think the conditions are so appalling i suggest you go elsewhere.
Its the same answer i give to the senior LH crew that also commplain, if you think you can do better elsewhere leave

QFQCCA...Wow!
You apply for a job that you dont like because it doesnt pay well.
You have done the job ...for what?...a month or so.You already have resentment toward current Cabin Crew and you want to change the system.
As said there a number of Airlines currently recruiting...fill in an application.
Dont stay here and let your resentment fester.
In five years your circumstances will change..you may want to have control over your life. The bid system will assist you in that.
You dont care about the lives and families of three thousand people who have built their home life around this system.
Hopefully in five years you will have gone and just be a bad memory.
A contemptible attitude in just a month...Wow!..thats gotta be a record.
