Hello mulligrub100 and justwaiting2456 I also am still waiting as I am at the same stage as you guys but am from Perth. Hopefully we will here soon I have been told by some of my friends that already fly that Cabin crew Aust (Qantas) will be taking a lot of classes through on middle to end of year? But could be just rumors so we will have to just wait its hard though I know. Its going to be full on.

waiting

Hi everyone

i hate to add to all this discussion about waiting but would just like some feedback as to where i stand.

I attended an melb external recruitment day just over 2 weeks ago and on the day they said we would hear back from them within 2 weeks. I know a lot of other people have been waiting far longer than i have on here and i have only just passed the 2 week mark, but my concern is that i have heard nothing from them at all. Most people seem to at least have their references checked but i have not even had that. Does not having your references checked by this stage mean my chances are gone and i am just waiting for the rejection email? or is no news still good news?

has any1 had a similar experience

Guys just wait..........stop complaining you haven't heard anything. Its a good sign.
No news means they haven't rejected you yet. It means they are still going through your application as well as the other 10,000 applicants that have applied.

When they get to you they will let you know.

Also they are still interviewing people so they have a lot of work to do at the moment. Just be patient and I wouldn't ring them as it will just annoy them they will get to you when they can. Ringing them isn't going to speed up their offer.

Ive heard the pay is like 1000 plus allowances which isn't that much...
Any current QCCA crew able to tell me how much they are earning including allowances?

unsuccessful

I am new here. I am lost. I am a Qantas Melbourne ground staff in check in. Attended the melbourne assessment day on 4 March. Bad luck and got rejected. Can anyone please tell me how long before I can reapply. Considering I have been with the company 5years + its hearbreaking that your employers doesnt take that into account.

Best of luck to all the people who got in.

prada...6 Months is the time that you have to wait before reapplying...think where you may have gone wrong and try to work on that until the next interview. There are so many FA jobs around that eventually you will get in. It is just a matter of time. Practice your interviewing skills with your partner or family and when the real time comes, you will be a pro!! Hope that helps a bit

Does anyone know how long it will take for uniforms to be issued once training starts? I've never belonged to the corporate/business world, so I really only have the one outfit that I bought for the interview day. I'm a bit reluctant to buy clothes just to bide time till I'm in a uniform. Any advice?

Also, I was reading back through this thread, and El Bell and all her/his posts seem to have disappeared. Anyone know if she/he is alright? I hope so

You generally will do your uniform fitting when you start and will be issued them in time for your cabin services training which should be in two weeks from start date. You do ep's first in corp attire.

Hey bbear 75 with clothes for training, there are some really great shops around that you can purchase a coupleof cheap corporate outfits for around $150 all up. If you are a girl SES is a great place to get really cheap clothes that look great and fit the corporate profile without the appearance of being cheap, another one is Temt. If you are a guy roger david is also good and reuban f scarf. As long as you have some classic pieces like black pants or a black skirt you can chop and change what tops you where with them and you really only need 3 or 4 tops that you can wear on different days.

I am pretty sure it might take them a couple of weeks to organise uniforms for us. Hope this helps

National Criminal History Check

Hi everyone

i went to my recruitment day without my national name check certificate as it was being processed at the time. i told this to the recruiter that was checking my documentation and he said it was fine as i had my receipt and 2 copies with me. But nothing more was said about it and he continued checking the other documents. i noticed that others on here had been told to fax it through once they recieved the letter and were given a number.....this didnt happen to me.

i got my national name check in the mail today and now i am wondering if i am meant to fax it through straight away or wait untill i hear from them?

any ideas ?

dyal1 fax it through, don't wait, they'll add it to your file and it shows your still keen. It also makes it a more complete application, which makes it easier for them to process.
