Chimbu,

I wouldn't attempt anything like that without the right preparation!! I'm not a big fan of scaring the **** out of myself to learn things. I don't know whether my mates partner has time in it (my mate doesn't). I'll pass it onto him that I know of a fella with time in it, you may get some work if you are interested

Impressive video of an IranAir airliner landing with no nose wheel. Looks to be landed expertly under the circumstances.

Ha!

Its a Boeing 727, right? Made in the US of A, right? The US has had an embargo on trade with Iran for many many years - since the embassy thing, right?

That 727 doesn't actually have a nosewheel, and the yanks won't sell them a new one - so they have been operating that aeroplane like that for years. A rubber pad replaces the nosewheel.

Practice makes perfect.

Gives new meaning to "rotate" on TO.

Birds and Flowers of the Outback

Pelicans on the Cooper at Windorah

Anita with the Irish Rose barmaid

She hit it off like a house on fire with the refueller -

at Marree

We were going the other way when we saw this, - as we were coming back..

and we left after refuelling and an early breakfast, so didn't get to play a round..

Back to aerial sight-seeing again

Heading east across the southern end of Lake Eyre North and looking out the port wing towards where Cooper Creek would run in if it was flowing

Cooper Creek at Innamincka

Innamincka Crow

'not enough 'jam'..?'

(p.s. - in light of the day's developments, reminds me of a shiny suit flicking another Aussie icon back and forth, - but to get that analogy right he would have to be a little import - like say, a Mynor Bird....)(as in Minor..Mynah..etc..)

the Three Birds at Nappa Merrie
(the ex-Qantas Ops Person, the Nurse, and The Frigate Bird)

Dig Tree Pelicans on the Cooper

Cooper Creek, Dig Tree, Face Tree, and Nappa Merrie strip at top right.
(Innamincka 20 miles over the border in S.A., on the far right horizon..)

Hey,Forkie. Did you see the piccy I put up for you on post 8751?
In the years of V tail Bonanzas in the USA,many doctors flew around in them & for some reason, crashed. They earned the name Fork Tail Doctor Killers. Now,we all know where Forky got his name.
Yes mate, thanks for that. I did wonder where my name came from!

The V-tail Bonanza is a very tricky aeroplane to fly, requiring skill right up there with Chuck Yeager - so I really don't know how I have managed to survive the last 800 hrs.

PS: THE painting is now framed and has pride-of-place in an art-nock in our lounge.

Very nice photos Jaba. I've got an F33A which is coming up for a repaint soon. Any idea of the Rego of the Bonnie in your photos. Thanks P
