Piano...where have you been. That's very irresponsible of you. There are lots of us waiting for your piccys. Sepia & indeed black & white adds a nostalgic character to photos. Great work. I'm guessing...Cairns?

Yeah frigatebird the photo's don't really do the lake justice. The Pink was nearly fluorescence, absolutely amazing.

Hey Jabawocky, frigatebird's last picture is Arckaroola's strip where you see me pushing out the 207 and the Auster. Just letting you know my Ipaper has great battery life.

Dougie at Arkaroola is an absolute champion and good friend. He knows pretty much everything about anything mechanical, scientific and geological. Ask him about running LOP and the benefits of GAMI injectors and you'll be converted for life!

Clinton.. Yep as PLovett said, 03/21 was the temp strip while the bitumen was being put down on 11/29 but it's still available for those that need it at times of strong crosswinds.

Loved the bitumen at William Creek! Great to see investment being made at outback aerodromes, rather than taking things away from them!

I think that was the temporary strip that Trev put in when the main one was being sealed.
Doh! Thanks PLovett. It’s so obvious I’m embarrassed I couldn’t work that out. I must be getting slow(er) in my old age. Now to working out how to get my piccie posted

Kipper - I love the curvature of the earth in some of your photos. Tends to emphasise just how big this place is.

Open house at Edwards AF base

Not dunnunda but you might enjoy some excellent pics, some with sound.

If you like this stuff, the B1B, B52, C17 and a pyro bombing run were all seen at Avalon this year. Next Avalon is March 2013.

Hmmm, spent some enforced sit down time yesterday, thread mining here. Geez there is some gold to be found; not having spent time in PNG I particularly enjoyed the pics and stories about that part of the planet, although outback Aus has it's own attractions. Frustrating though that so many of the links and photos have disappeared - I can understand the powers that be not wanting to pay to host all our pics, but it's a bit like "watching" the Victoria's Secret show with the picture turned off, if you get my drift. Eg there was much hilarity over a photo that apparently involved Mr Cessna's 208 model and something/someone else back on about p187 but the photo itself ahd long since disappeared into the ether.

Anyhow here is one of mine from a month or two back;
