Canopy release in the centre of the dash.

Pull yellow handle and push out canopy in which ever direction required.

Better plan is to leave them the right way up

So very true!

But with it upside down, it would be resting on the canopy & the tail. Would you be able to move the canopy when strapped in your seat upside down, with most of the weight of the aircraft on the canopy?

No simple answer....it would depend on too many variables.

Ask some glider and Grumman Tiger folk about there exit strategies as they could be similar.

No doubt it has happened.

Thanks. A lot of the newer aircraft these days are configured this way & I have often wondered.

Perhaps I am just a pessimist!

I make sure there's always a hefty axe in the back of the mighty Grummans. Not sure how much use it would actually be but it provides some measure of reassurance.

ahhh the wanless jet

I went to uni with one of the Richards of waste fame....who happens to be a pilot and keeps his hand in flying C208' or lears or whatever is going on the coast, and he said to me in the back of an Electrical Engineering class....."There's money in Sh1T"

Now that is the result of scrap metal and goodness knows what else.........nice plane, and I think the only one in Oz?

Is the turbo commander in the photo above still conducting cloud seeding operations and research?

Since the drought broke I haven't heard much from them. Guess Anna Bligh got all the rain she wanted (and some more!).

Remember hearing him busting through towering Cus over the dividing range a couple of years back, north-west of Brisbane. Sorry, can't remember exact callsign...

Centre: "ABC, confirm altitude"
ABC: "ABC, maintaining 3000"
Centre: "Ok....confirm you're visual"
ABC: "ABC, aaahhh, negative, in cloud"
Centre: "Hmmm...okaaaaayyy......"

Centre was no doubt wondering what was going on in an area where LSALTs are usually around 4000ft.

Haha yes that is one of the nicest bos I have seen for a while.

I thought the jabamobile was going to get blown away by a navy squirrel that "dropped in" for juice just before we left. It parked right next to the RV and blew crap all over the place.

Nice guys though and let us have a stickybeak.

They reckon the squirrel has 3 hours endurance at 120 knots. Long way from the Timor Sea to Nowra which is where they were tracking

Cheers

YSGE........Squirell juice? I gather the Jones crew have their secret squirell supply somehwere for the Ag planes. Never seen any elsewhere there, only the old Avgas pump.

Glad I had all my control locks on.........and that does explain why my freshly washed Retard Vehicle was covered in dust and grass

What is happening to the posts and page numbers here? The last several notifications I have for this thread reveal no new posts when I log in and try to find them, but the page numbers are all effed up.
Yes, it is a program problem which can't be found. It appears to have something to do with the default number of posts in your profile.

The only way I can fix the problem is to close this thread and open a new, Part II thread.

If you want that, let me know.
