The view from the office was decidedly chilly yesterday!
And here's me thinking that the radiant heat generated by all the Doc's triple redundancy GPS receivers was actually contributing to Global Warming!!!

HR

You are a trouble maker!.....

Most likely like todays MET where it says Icing Nil.......but get the airframe cold enough and descend into some moisture and Bingo!

Will be around 0 enroute to BCV this morning.......doubt there will be any H20 around though!

XXX, a strange comment. You do not trust your own workmanship? Remind me not to go flying with you in your homebuilt.

Does the CASA just happily sign off on an airframe that doesn't meet basic standards of workmanship? that does say VH on the tail...er fuselage.

Jaba, anytime you want a sole for a REAL loadcheck down here in Vic...just give us a call

Ozbusdriver, more interesting is your comment than mine. What am I getting at? CASA don't sign off experimental aircraft, however approved delegates do. BUT those delegates only sign off that they witnessed YOU (as the builder) perform your final inspection. In theory they are not allowed to offer advice to you (due to insurance / liabiliy etc) and they are not required to perform stage inspections, so you rock up with a fully built aircraft, perform your inspection, they give you a C of A and you fly away with no more to pay..... hopefully. The aircraft could be built with brown paper bags and elastic bands from Australia post and legally they cannot stop you from flying it. They can however impose restrictions upon you. For certified engines, it's 25 hours in the designated area and 40 for non-certified engines, however if they feel your craft *might* be unairworthy, they can assign a greater period. Once that test period is passed, you have nil restrictions, eg NVFR, IFR, etc, assuming you have the required gear.

It's the same under RAA too. They witness you perform the final inspection and you're all done.

(Slightly scary really).

Thought I would add a few destinations worth visiting across Oz

All within a couple of hundred mile of each other if that helps.

I almost never have a camera with me in the aeroplane, but this particular morning I did. Ands what's even more amazing than that, was the fact that I actually remembered to use the thing. Nothing dramatic, just some nice pics of the sun coming. A great time of the day to be out and about.

And the flying was great too.

Just to put something in this post.

I have YET to see a dud amateur or EXPERIMENTAL aircraft. Every last one has been built with considerable care and attention to detail far in excess of that required for a CERTIFIED aircraft.

Great morning photoes, bloke
