CFOT, credit where credit is due to the pilots up there clocking up those big hours, but definitely a job for the single guy. My trip was just a private one, I don't work for them. As for the dirty aircraft, they were all dirty because of the bore water there which would no doubt quickly corrode anything. I notice it dries white and tastes foul. It was an entertaining weekend and I look forward to going back up there again. Didn't realise there was a campfire gathering arrangement, I thought the pilots were all shacked up in a house.

The FTDK is in the shop as we speak, being tuned and rigged to perfection in preparation for the inevitable showdown with the Retard Vehicle!
Well the deed is done!

This afternoon I gave Jaba and the newly spatted RV-10 the length of the Hervey Bay runway headstart ...................... and beat them to Maleny VOR (86 nm) by 7 miles!

Question: Is an RV-10 quicker than a Bonanza V35B?

Answer: NO!

Maybe, just maybe, as a suggestion, you could both count the bugs smashed on the screen, leads to the age old question, do you get wetter running or walking between point A and B when its raining?

What's the whole story? Two aeroplanes flew 86 nm - one got there 7 nm ahead of the other one. End of story!

And as this is the photos thread! What do you call a group of RVs? A gaggle?

Brave words................... I think you would find the FTDK knows a fair bit, but is a sh!t stirrer of the highest order!

3 Rv's and a Plastic Parrot..........

Ahhhh folks wait till the fairings are on, and due wx and on the same IFR plan, no testing VOR's at low level (and two orbits) and 10-20 knots difference in headwinds............... then we will see!

Sorry TinPis, had an ISP problem with the pics. I'll try and put them back shortly. It's quite large set-up, perhaps the bar part used to be seperate from the accommodation / motel part...?

Yes it was a good fun weekend. One of the girls from the park was leaving so I heard there were a few extra rounds for her as they TRIED to play the jukebox... and danced on the bar til all hours. As for the water - it's like battery acid - swallow too much and you end up with a bad case of Marree belly - much worse than the camel cup hangover...
The biggest downer of the whole weekend is we didn't even get to see a camel!

So when is the rematch? C'mon Doc, you gotta beat him fair and square

We spotted 2 Camels from the air the next day. There were a dozen or so at the races. The Jukebox went till 2:30am and a party a couple of houses away was still going at 5:30am. Speaking to a station hand he has seen a mob of 4,000 (seriously) Camels once, so there should be more out there somewhere. The bar antics including moderate punch-up were somewhat amusing. The victim was unfortunately the father of the local cop which didn't go down well.

You guys will all be talking about this 20 years from now on PPrune about the fun you were having as you pilot your A390 across the pacific, just like TinPis who is reminiscing from 35 years ago.

Impressive to say the least!

No doubt the same dust storm that caused the VB 737 to land at Mildura a couple of weeks ago.

I have only posted this because Photos needs at all time to be on the first page.

I check it daily to see how JABA and the FTDK are fighting out their aeronautical egos.

Can't click through to page 2.

Barkly, Jaba and FTDK are both good mates of mine and each other - you need to learn how to recognise a little good natured banter when you see it.

Gooday Barkly

You raise a good point, this thread should remain on the front page, so the rest of you folk should snap more pics, even if you think its boring, others may be interested!

Ok there now is a a competition brewing, just need to finish running in an engine before heading to higher levels.........

Look out Forkie.....and what did he say about the climb rate and all on less HP and gear hanging out!

There is a friendly race on from Brisbane to Charleville next Saturday with BEACH KING....... see how we go there, as the Retard Vehicle will be loaded to the eyeballs ....... and the winner will be drinking Beach King's beers on his verandah!

Chimbu

That was a joke!

I love the banter which is why I wanted it back on the front page - back again to the top gentlemen - cutlasses or pistols?
