Sarcasm on/ Not that Putin is Nazi-like in his behaviour /sarcasm off. |

Not good off Odesa, this will be reeking havoc on the wildlife

Some reports of another mass casualty event from russians grouping together to hear a speech from some higher up. This is different from the one reported on a few days ago. This one seems close to the front with drone assisted artillery fire

The 'other' one involved a wait of two hours or so, no? Do these top commanders think they are rock stars, or are they simply drunk?

When there is a very fluid, hard-fought situation as currently in an advancing army and there are numerous enemy casualties spread around, how quickly would the advancing troops :
a) Check them for potential to carry on fighting/ shoot them in the back ( and possibly mark wounded ) ? b) Search for wounded and evacuate them ? c) Evacuate the dead ? |

When Putin met Obama he kept Obama waiting for 20 minutes, when he met with HM the Queen he kept her waiting for still longer. I guess it's a way of saying, "my time is more valuable than yours". |
Pentagon leaks suspect faces 60 years in jail after indictment
The US airman suspected of leaking more than 100 pages of classified documents online faces up to 60 years in jail after being charged with six counts of retaining and transmitting classified national defence information. Russia deepfake video mocks Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden Rishi Sunak spins the wheel of sanctions and lands on a hedgehog, in Brussels Ursula von der Leyen is taking a hard line on salads and wolfhounds, and in Berlin Olaf Scholz is out of ideas and turns to ChatGPT for help. If the most sophisticated deepfake videos blur the line between reality and make-believe, Moscow’s latest propaganda push takes a sledgehammer to it. Shared on the social media channels of the Kremlin’s diplomatic outposts in Europe, a video entitled “11th package of sanctions (behind the scenes)” features President Biden banging his head against a wall and, in a fit of pique, President Macron manhandling a signpost. Originally created by the Kremlin-controlled broadcaster RT, the video starts in the Oval Office, where an AI-generated Biden says: “No, no, no, that’s bull. We need fresh ideas, stronger and more effective,” as he throws away documents and bangs his head against the wall. Scholz is later shown typing “ideas for sanctions against Russia” into the AI platform ChatGPT….. Recently the Kremlin has doubled down on its disinformation campaign. On Tuesday it was revealed Russia was responsible for a fake news story designed to convince French people that the country was threatened by a radioactive cloud caused by British weapons supplied to Ukraine. The vast disinformation campaign involved cloning western newspaper websites in an attempt to undermine support for Ukraine, according to Catherine Colonna, the French foreign minister. There were at least 49 such articles involving Le Parisien, seven involving 20 Minutes, a free newspaper, and one each for Le Monde and Le Figaro…. |
Ukrainian fighter pilots are being trained to fly F-16 jets, Nato’s secretary general has revealed, as Kyiv claimed further incremental progress in its counteroffensive against Russian forces in the east and south of Ukraine.
Nato allies have yet to agree on delivering the so-called fourth-generation US fighters to Ukraine, but Jens Stoltenberg said that the training of Ukrainian personnel was under way. “The fact that training has started provides us with the option to also decide to deliver the planes and then the pilots will be ready to fly them,” the former prime minister of Norway said as he arrived at a meeting of defence ministers in Brussels.… |
Russia deepfake video mocks Rishi Sunak and Joe Biden If it makes them feel better while they are getting their ar8es kicked on the battlefield then fine. I'm sure there are equally gifted people on Ukraine's side who could make much funnier ones up about Putin - although the RT comedy shows are already entertaining. |
Ukrainian POWs being held on the territory of an EU/NATO country without consular, Red Cross or UN access?
Ukraine said it has established the location of 11 captured defenders who, after being captured by the Russians, are being held on the territory of Hungary. This is reported by Oleh Kotenko, Commissioner for issues of persons missing under special circumstances. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....0d638f7eaf.png |

Can't see an obvious reason why a failure of the area at B would result in a failure at A, but the reverse is quite possible. The high velocity and mass flow through the breach at A would result in a counter clockwise vortex flow around the left bank, (and a clockwise vortex around the right bank but the geometry of the walls there is quite different). The counter clockwise vortex on the left bank would scour the area of the left bank, and that should have had an erosion cladding of some form to prevent erosion from the normal flow from the turbines, which are much lower exit velocity than the spillway flow, but still will result in a vortex structure in that area.
