Ukraine War Thread Part 2
Russia’s woes in building new tanks, repairing or even refurbishing old stocks, optics and ball bearings are all normally sourced from the west, so they have a severe shortage now hence the low output in armour etc.

One reason that Ukraine needs to join NATO after the current war.

SAAB is ramping up facilities, supply and would support any Grippen donations to Ukraine if it was ever decided upon.

In Dmitri's link, is that a car or a motorbike flying over that row of houses with its headlights still on?
The lights look to come from that white car which is parked facing to left of the frame. Its lights are off but the blast probably triggered its alarm which put the lights on. You can just make out twin beams of light as it spirals out of the blast. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....20ae431241.jpg Parked car https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....55ad07be7c.jpg twin headlights |

Amazing bit of footage. The delay between impact and actual burst is lengthy, suggests it wasn't a delay fuse but one that wasn't fused and it just cooked off?

I assume this is to increase his UAV range of operation, either that or he wishes to be a future contestant in our cap comp, which he may well achieve. I could imagine his tech guys briefing him on their use then pissing themselves laughing when he believed them and left.

Latvia to send ALL their Stingers to Ukraine.

YES…FINALLY, UKRAINE WILL become part of NATO. Post war, the problem I see is Russia will need to go all out plus some if their aim is to prevent that happening now, no deals to renage on later as during that time Ukraine could join.

Re-posted as some of us can't see the links.

Ffrom the New York Times today:
The Air National Guardsman accused of leaking classified documents to a small group of gamers had been posting sensitive information months earlier than previously known and to a much larger chat group, according to online postings reviewed by The New York Times. In February 2022, soon after the invasion of Ukraine, a user profile matching that of Airman Jack Teixeira began posting secret intelligence on the Russian war effort on a previously undisclosed chat group on Discord, a social media platform popular among gamers. The chat group contained about 600 members. The case against Airman Teixeira, 21, who was arrested on April 13, pertains to the leaking of classified documents on another Discord group of about 50 members, called Thug Shaker Central. His job as an information technology specialist at an Air Force base in Massachusetts gave him top secret clearance. It is not clear whether authorities are aware of the classified material posted on this additional Discord chat group. The newly discovered information posted on the larger chat group included details about Russian and Ukrainian casualties, activities of Moscow’s spy agencies and updates on aid being provided to Ukraine. The user claimed to be posting information from the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency and other intelligence agencies. The additional information raises questions about why authorities did not discover the leaks sooner, particularly since hundreds more people would have been able to see the posts. |
Brings to mind can those other users who never reported it be charged with conspiracy.. or did they just think it was made up intel.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes limited attacks by Ukraine on Russian territory are an acceptable tactic in repelling Russia's invasion.
In such a war, it is "completely normal for the attacked party to advance into enemy territory, for example to cut off supply routes," he said on the political talk show Maybrit Illner on Thursday evening. "As long as no cities, civilians or civilian areas are attacked , one will necessarily have to accept that." |

ahhh... I see it’s already been remarked on :uhoh: .. |
Convoy of newly camouflaged Ukrainian Bradley’s formed up on transporters and carrying new fwd facing arrow tactical markings, rather apt ones for a counterattack if I say so myself.

Another discarded cigarette in Moscow.

The self inflicted bomb that hit Belogrod has uncovered another probably left over from the war for the Russians to deal with :)
|
Ukraine has signed up for new nuclear power stations from the US, to be up and running 2029… we would still be holding enquiries.

A man both proud and happy with his new ride.

U.S. hits Russia's "shadow fleet": largest oil carrier in India is deprived of international insurance
The shadow fleet of dozens of tankers, which transports Russian oil to Asia bypassing Western sanctions, was hit by the US sanctions. India-registered Gatik Ship Management, which became a major carrier of oil from Russia last year, has lost international insurance because of a violation of the "price cap" mechanism, Bloomberg reported, citing a source familiar with the situation. The Mumbai-headquartered company, which nobody knew about until last year, assembled a fleet of 48 tankers with a combined capacity of more than 30 million barrels and worth $1.4 billion. Almost all of the vessels entered Russian ports and exported oil or oil products, a Vortexa analysis showed. |

Wow!!
Chinese ambassador to France stating that ex-Soviet republics have no status in international law as sovereign nations. That should lead to the ambassadors in the Baltic states, and elsewhere, being invited to explain themselves… |
How about the UN charter? Does China still intend to respect it?
