Ukraine War Thread Part 2

Russia’s woes in building new tanks, repairing or even refurbishing old stocks, optics and ball bearings are all normally sourced from the west, so they have a severe shortage now hence the low output in armour etc.

To be fair I add post in quotes for those that have trouble seeing posts due to the sites issues AND in thread so the mods can instantly read my posts.
ONLY when posts are of possibly a sensitive matter such as dead or wounded do I only post in quotes only, and then I ADD A WARNING, so the thread does not automatically throw up serious images of wounded individuals, as I do try not to upset those that may read the site who are either sensitive or underage.

The only other times I do not post a quote is when the link is massive and will fill a large section of the thread, in those cases I explain what the link is about and post a link in the thread.

I try like hell to appease everyone while keeping the thread relevant to what is going on……….

I feel this is the most important thread this site has, because it is the one thread that is dealing with not just the war, but the possible repercussions for both mankind and this planet, the rest is just trivia.

Thanks all.

Edit: I do thank the mods in the leeway we all appear to be given in keeping this thread relevant.

One reason that Ukraine needs to join NATO after the current war.

SAAB is ramping up facilities, supply and would support any Grippen donations to Ukraine if it was ever decided upon.

Amazing bit of footage. The delay between impact and actual burst is lengthy, suggests it wasn't a delay fuse but one that wasn't fused and it just cooked off?

The lights look to come from that white car which is parked facing to left of the frame. Its lights are off but the blast probably triggered its alarm which put the lights on. You can just make out twin beams of light as it spirals out of the blast.

Amazing!
You actually see the lights of the car swirling up the adjacent building!

given what ms Skabeyevahaha is prepared to put out for cash, she may have a point there. Imagine the impact to her Crimean dacha renovation fund of the decline in sales of her line of work. [insert sad face here]

I assume this is to increase his UAV range of operation, either that or he wishes to be a future contestant in our cap comp, which he may well achieve. I could imagine his tech guys briefing him on their use then pissing themselves laughing when he believed them and left.

YES…FINALLY, UKRAINE WILL become part of NATO. Post war, the problem I see is Russia will need to go all out plus some if their aim is to prevent that happening now, no deals to renage on later as during that time Ukraine could join.

Ffrom the New York Times today:
The Air National Guardsman accused of leaking classified documents to a small group of gamers had been posting sensitive information months earlier than previously known and to a much larger chat group, according to online postings reviewed by The New York Times.

In February 2022, soon after the invasion of Ukraine, a user profile matching that of Airman Jack Teixeira began posting secret intelligence on the Russian war effort on a previously undisclosed chat group on Discord, a social media platform popular among gamers. The chat group contained about 600 members.

The case against Airman Teixeira, 21, who was arrested on April 13, pertains to the leaking of classified documents on another Discord group of about 50 members, called Thug Shaker Central. His job as an information technology specialist at an Air Force base in Massachusetts gave him top secret clearance.

It is not clear whether authorities are aware of the classified material posted on this additional Discord chat group.

The newly discovered information posted on the larger chat group included details about Russian and Ukrainian casualties, activities of Moscow’s spy agencies and updates on aid being provided to Ukraine. The user claimed to be posting information from the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency and other intelligence agencies.

The additional information raises questions about why authorities did not discover the leaks sooner, particularly since hundreds more people would have been able to see the posts.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes limited attacks by Ukraine on Russian territory are an acceptable tactic in repelling Russia's invasion.

In such a war, it is "completely normal for the attacked party to advance into enemy territory, for example to cut off supply routes," he said on the political talk show Maybrit Illner on Thursday evening. "As long as no cities, civilians or civilian areas are attacked , one will necessarily have to accept that."

Not Nutloose; the mods have re-booted the thread. (But Nutty's appearance as #1 still appropriate, I feel).

He didn’t, the Mod closed the first part due to the length and opened the second. Nutloose just happened to be the first post transferred onto the new part.

Is Ukraine about to have a war?
