Putin appears to be hedging his bets on Ukraine not being able to produce its own tanks etc as he destroys their infrastructure, so will eventually run out of arms and have to rely on the West. |

it depends what was fired at it, I thought it had sensors and countermeasures for various missile systems, however the starstreak is guided so tends to be invulnerable to those. The other 18 could have been a whole gamut of missiles but the starstreak knocked it down.

Russian Tactical-Nuclear Bombs and Missiles have begun to arrive at Storage and Deployment Sites in Belarus.
https://t.co/dqxEHaR7xV |
And Belarus threatens to use them independently.

If the bombs yield is more than Little Boy is it corect to call it tactical. Deploying it will be a strategic disaster facing strategic consequences.
|
Tactical is about use not yield.
If Russia exploded a 100kt warhead over the battlefield that would be tactical (if deplorable), if they exploded the same warhead over London that would be strategic (and fatal - for Moscow). |
Delimkhanov is rumoured to have been killed in Primorsk. He is/was a member of the Russian State Duma and head of the Chechen branch of Rosgvardia,
Russian media is reporting that Delimkhanov was wounded, but alive, but the following would indicate otherwise… "I'm unable to reach Adam Delimkhanov in any way. He isn’t getting in touch. I ask Ukrainian intelligence to provide information on exactly what place and what positions were hit, so that I could still find my dear BROTHER. I promise a generous reward and I ask you to help." https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....570577a829.png |
Not an inconsequential commentator - he is a former advisor to both Yeltsin and Putin and within Putin’s inner circle.
Probably just psy-Ops- but possibly and indication of the way Putin’s mind is turning…. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergey_Karaganov "Using nuclear weapons could save humanity from a global catastrophe" - yet another crazy thought of the Russian propaganda. Sergey Karaganov, pro-Kremlin political scientist, academic head of global economy and global politics faculty in Higher School of Economics, called for Russia to used nuclear weapons against the West in Profil magazine. Karaganov justifies his thought with Russia's failures in Ukraine. He believes that even Russian victory in the war with Ukraine and even bringing all Ukrainian territories under Russian control won't help finish "the clash with the West". Russia, in his opinion, would get "stuck" in Ukraine for years when it really needs a shifting in its "spiritual, economic, military-political center to the East of Eurasia." And that's just what the West needs, Karaganov believes. So Russia, according to Karaganov, needs a crushing victory not over Ukraine but the West itself. Karaganov suggests "restoring the persuasiveness of nuclear deterrence, lowering the unacceptably high threshold for the use of nuclear weapons, prudently but quickly moving up the ladder of deterrence-escalation." He believes the first steps were already taken - Karaganov mentions the placement of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus - but it's necessary to move on and issue an ultimatum to the West. If it is not obeyed - "strike a group of targets in a number of countriest to bring those who lost their minds to their senses." It follows from the text that the goals are in Central and Eastern Europe. After that, Karaganov writes, USA and NATO will surrender because America would not want to risk Washington "for some Poznan." He continues that China and other countries of the non-Western world would thank Russia in the end for ridding of "Western hegemony." https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....e9bbd47ac8.png |
Is this resurgence of nuclear threats a sign that, contrary to Putin's claims, things are not going so well on the battlefield at present?
|
Just their daily nuke threat, nothing relevant.

I wish I was as sanguine as you, given the vicious and irrational behaviour of UKR's opponents.

It was meant to be sarcasm, certainly this is a serious topic. I see them fighting within each other as the biggest nuke risk coming.

Ramzan Kadyrov published a cryptic message on his telegram saying he lost his dear BROTHER Adam Delimkhanov who is not getting back to him. Kadyrov is asking Ukrainian intelligence to say what positions they hit so he could find his friend: "I'm unable to reach Adam Delimkhanov in any way. He isn’t getting in touch. I ask Ukrainian intelligence to provide information on exactly what place and what positions were hit, so that I could still find my dear BROTHER. Turns out it may have been Wagner that told Ukraine where he was LOL |
It would appear Russia has problems with a power station..

The United States has blocked the sale of HIMARS for Hungary
The sale of the $735 million stake was blocked by the top Republican, Senator James E. Rish. In a statement to The Washington Post, he said that Hungary must admit Sweden to NATO if it wants to receive the arms package. The package includes 24 batteries of HIMARS rocket launchers, plus over 100 missiles and pods, along with related parts and support. |
Some payback, sales of Himars to Hungary blocked over the troubles with letting Sweden join NATO

Lukashenko appears to be whistling figures out of thin air..
It gets even more fruity loops, he states no Country has ever gone to war against a nuclear power....... obviously he is oblivious to the little war going on next door. .. |

I thought Lukashenko was at death's door in a hospital in Moscow following having taken tea with Putin and his son was visiting with the Chinese to safeguard his future, What happened?
