I really can’t figure the Russians out. They are getting either pushed back or pushed out on multiple fronts, but instead of using what they have left on the enemy troops they have just fired missiles into an apartment building. What makes it even more bizarre is the apartment building was in the city of Zaporizhzhia… the capital of one of the region just annexed! So in their eyes they just targeted their own civilians?
A national character built on bravado and machismo - why Putin does all that topless horse riding and other stunts - its all about face saving and whatever smoke and mirrors have to be employed to achieve that is fine by them. |
Russians surrendering their APC... the old Long Johns on the barrel flag ;)

https://twitter.com/emileghessen/sta...44545856512005 That is a pretty well-disciplined takedown in a high-risk situation, gotta hand it to the Ukrainian forces, they were ready and no one went rowdy. Patdown was efficient and without any abuse. These are professional soldiers of Ukraine's forces I wonder or just darned well prepared. Reckon the quartermasters in Russia will be getting a run on longjohns, non camo. :ok: |
Well it isn't the first, they did have the lone tanker surrender ages ago after his crew deserted and his boss told him he would shoot him if he did, they set that handover up in the middle of a barren field, it does look Salisbury plain ish and the front Z is painted out? see
more pics of he latest one, https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...e-Kherson.html Additional film of the Surrender. note in the first film the officer in charge appears to be female, good to see :) |
European Parliament: EU should give Ukraine more tanks, fast-track its membership.
The EU countries willing to deliver Leopard II tanks to Ukraine will be reimbursed from the European Peace Facility, said European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, according to France 24. Metsola has also called for Ukraine's "accelerated" entry into the EU. "We have a country that has shown us its intention, and overwhelming willingness to join, and surpassing expectations and meeting goals that other countries would have taken months or years," she said. |
Operating a large mortar looks decidedly dodgy.

Correction adding correct linky.
Anyone read this as Putin trying to find a way out of the war??? A sort of softening of his stance and setting up the Russian people for news they might not like? A realisation he is screwed. |
"In the prisoner’s three-man tank crew, all three were from different units...The prisoner, a paratrooper, was the driver. The commander, was a mercenary from the Wagner paramilitary outfit. And the gunner was mobilized from the occupied Luhansk region."…

Interesting displacement activity there, with pen and paper. Quite vigorous at times.
