I can't be sure since information conflicts, but there was info that the Lieutenant General Andrei Sychevoi was already transferred to Western military district a month ago hence very unlikely to be in Balakliya.
I am more than happy to be corrected, once eg Ukrainian officials or Russian officials confirm this.

To my observation of the Twitter feeds last night, Nutty's links are 3rd tier echo chamber. When the first pictures of the captured officer appeared nobody suggested it's a general at all. Especially that tweet 'now confirmed' only links from a disussion which explicitly said it is not the same person.

So far, we have only seen AGM-88 HARM in use with Ukrainian MiG-29 jets.

However, evidence has now emerged showing the powerful Su-27S (Notably in an older colour scheme) apparently carrying two HARM missiles; another boost to UkAF SEAD capability.

A Russian Telegram channel claims that the commander of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division evacuated from Izyum two days ago even though some of his forces are still in the area.

This is both exciting and amusing. Hope it's true.

Russian war correspondent Evegeny Poddubny says that Ukraine has damaged the bridge in Kupyansk, potentially limiting the ability of Russian reinforcements to arrive in the city or for its forces to retreat.

Let's not be too harsh on those early predictions. Indeed, the OP of this thread made the suggestion that Ukraine was preparing an all out offensive on Russian held areas of Eastern Ukraine. Turns out he was correct, just a little premature!
