Is something up?
Is something up?
Lukashenka called the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "extremely dangerous", called for an urgent stop to the war, announcing a truce and starting negotiations. Oh, what happened?

Following the ensuing debacle, the survivors renamed him Isatai'i ("Wolf Vulva"). I'm sure that the Russian language has an equivalent.

In this YT video from Denys Davydov, he talks about air-defence at 7:00 and says that deployment of Patriot is probably awaiting the much -heralded counter-attack. Since these are mobile systems, I really don't understand why they would not have used them since arrival ( 6-8 weeks ago ? ) unless it is restricted missile-supply ( over $ 1 million per piece ) and they are saving them to counter Russian air-power when they make their big push.
There is also mention of a large explosion at Simferopol military airport which the Russkis claim was a plane going supersonic, but there is accompanying video showing a large plume of smoke. Speculation of drone attack.
DD also reports the UKR Defence Minister saying that the counter-attack will happen in late April/early May !!. At 17:45 DD shows his regular war-map and talks through different possibilities for this action.

"Meanwhile, 65 Ukrainians are wrapping up training on the Patriot missile system at Fort Sill, Okla., in the coming days, base military officials said as they hosted a small group reporters to view the instruction. The Ukrainian air defenders and two donated Patriot systems will be on the battlefield in a matter of weeks, after training began in mid-January. ........... Once the Ukrainian soldiers complete training at Fort Sill, they will travel to a location in Europe, where they will join a separate group of Ukrainian soldiers who are learning to use Patriot systems donated by the Germans and the Dutch. The groups will then return to the battlefield with the new Patriot equipment in the coming weeks, officials said. The components of the U.S.-donated Patriot system will come from different locations across the country, officials said. The Ukrainians will assemble the parts into one complete system in their country. "

Which in turn tends to suggest that the SAM-systems that have been problematic so far may include either Crotale (from France) and/or NASAAMS (from Norway), and didn't I have a vague memory that some of the PAAMS-derivative went from Italy. Could be one or more of those three. I'm sure everyone is trying their hardest to solve whatever are/were the difficulties.

A quick word of encouragement to NutLoose and others. Please keep up the good work, I come here first in the mornings and look in several times during the day and last thing before bed. This is my primary news service and I appreciate your efforts. Cheers.

This is a third video from this channel I watched recently and it is surprisingly well made. Logical cuts, added sound and very intense.
In this particular sequence I am rather surprised by lack of infantry support, lonely tank against fortified position is a gamble (you can see a near miss by ATGM in the beginning) which may end badly. You can almost feel the horror of Russians creeping in the ditch and I think they waved with white flag close to the end but were finally destroyed few seconds later. I wonder if commander didn't see it or decided not to take prisoners due to lack of own infantry which would take care of POWs. Visibility from tank is not so good compared to the drone which is much higher and I am not sure if the tank was directed by drone operator.

Russians never throw away any weapon. However, as these 50s design anti tank guns were supposed to be obsolete by 90s and already in museums, it is surprising to see these in such vast numbers. Noteworthy is the very shiny example at 34sec mark, it has white wheels marking a parade version.
I have no clue if those are really on their way to the front, but as none of the others are white wheeled those aren't going to the may day parade. Talking about scraping the barrel. It just happens there are loads of barrels to scrape.

The importance of proper clothing. With inproper clothing in winter time one dies. OTOH with proper clothing one has a huge advantage over a mobik in sneakers and an anorak.
Gloves would be nice though.

Re MT-12 Rapira above, the RoZZ must be expecting some tanks approaching from somewhere very soon...
