Some of the to and fro-ing was simply because he couldn't get out, you can see the tracks turning but not biting into the soft earth so he had to keep reversing up, adjusting his angle and trying again to find something his tank could get grip on. I think with the tank rounds that were fired into the trench anyone surviving would be either concussed or nearly dead.
Your other problem is anything under 20 ish metres, the RPG blast is also a threat to the person firing it.

That photo's not fair. The Challenger's closer to the camera.
But the Russians do say that their tanks make a smaller target.

Latvian parliament has approved the law for compulsory military service as a reaction to Russias aggression.
First conscripts enter service in July 2023.
Males born after January 1, 2004, are subject to mandatory service and must start service within one year of turning 18. If they are still in school, they must start service within one year after graduation.
Males and females aged 18 to 27 can also apply for the service voluntarily.
The compulsory service can be done in one of three ways: 11 months in the National Armed Forces or the National Guard; five years in the National Guard, with at least 21 individual training days per year and 7 collective training days per year; finishing a five-year education university program of a Reserve Lieutenant.

Security cameras along the route taken by the suspect in the killing of the blogger Vladlen Tatarsky were reportedly not working on the day of the bombing, creating a 'dead zone' where she could have met someone. This has raised further suspicions over who was responsible.

OTOH I think the use of a bomb is interesting and I really wondered why they did that - when you think that there are so many windows around. The window would seem to me to be the tool of someone who knows they won't be pursued or caught (i.e. they're in control) whereas a bomb seems like the choice of someone who is taking a big chance. It's a sign of instability, so there's something in that.

BREAKING:
The Finns party just announced it will change group affiliation in the European Parliament from ID to ECR.
The party board stated it was done due to “the radical change in Finland’s security policy environment and Russia’s brutal war of aggression.”
The party board also stated that:
“the Finns must be part of a group in the European Parliament whose member parties stand united in uncompromising defense of Western civilization and the European security policy architecture”
The Vice-Chair of the ECR Group, @weimers, stated:
“The Finns party joining the ECR Group is another sign of a growing conservative and Putin critical movement. This will further strengthen the ECR Group as the preeminent Russia-critical voice in the European Parliament”
